2 - HERE'S PROOF THAT THE BUSH TAX RATE CUT WAS FAIR:
Here's a little story to illustrate the point that an across the board TAX CUT is the most fair type of tax cut:
Three friends go to dinner. One is VERY RICH, one is MIDDLE CLASS, one is WORKING POOR. They order their own meals. The VERY RICH guy orders the lobster tails for $55, the MIDDLE CLASS guy orders steak for $30, and the WORKING CLASS guy orders hamburger for $15. When the bill comes, it should be $100, but because they are the 1 millionth table served at the restaurant, they get 33% off the bill - so it comes to only $67.
What is the fairest way for them to divide the discount - the $33?
Should they each get $11? (That would mean the VERY RICH guy would pay $44 - that's 18% off, and the MIDDLE CLASS guy would pay $19 - that's 37% off, and the WORKING CLASS guy would pay $10 - that 50% off.)
Or, should they each get a 30% reduction of the price of the meal they each ordered? That would mean the VERY RICH guy would get an $18 dollar rebate and the MIDDLE CLASS guy would get a $10 rebate, and the WORKING CLASS guy would get $5 rebate.
I think the latter arrangement is fairer. And that's why I think the Bush Tax Rate Cut was fair.
The rich did not get most of the tax cut - as the Left wants you to believe.
In fact, as the chart above proves, the Bush Tax rates are the most progressive in the world and doesn't favor the rich at all.
Liberals who think otherwise should WAKE UP!

THE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S FREEDOM ACT OF 2012 (IWFA):
The agency would report on particularly severe violations of women's freedom and the systematic, ongoing, egregious violations of gender freedom, including violations such as:
- forced marriage, torture or cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment;
- honor-killing
- denials of the right to life, liberty, or the security of women based on their gender
- economic sanctions, by the United States..
Issuing recommendations as to countries it believes should be designated as countries of particular concern for their gender liberty violations would be the United States Commission on International Women's Freedom, an agency to be created by IWFA to monitor the state of women's freedom around the world and provide policy recommendations to the president, the secretary of state and US Congress.
THIS SHOULD BE A NON-CONTROVERSIAL AND NON-PARTISAN BILL THAT SHOULD GET 100% APPROVAL IN CONGRESS.
WOMEN'S HUMAN RIGHTS ARE UNIVERSAL AND ALREADY GUARANTEED BY THE UN'S DECLARATION OF UNIVERSAL HUMAN RIGHTS.

Senate may succumb to dhimmitude by closing watchdog that monitors religious freedom violations in Muslim countries
If the US Senate does the following act suggested in this news article (via Jihad Watch and Atlas Shrugs), they will have made a farce of US politics:
For more than a decade, an independent, statutory monitor has been advising the U.S. executive and legislative branches on international religious freedom, drawing attention to the persecution of people of faith under Muslim, communist and autocratic regimes from Riyadh to Rangoon. But by this time next week, it may have to close its doors.I too urge everyone to turn to their senators and ask them to ensure this watchdog remains open. Monitoring bodies like these are very important to safeguard human rights across the world.
The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) will shut down unless the U.S. Senate approves a reauthorization bill before then, or unless funding is included in a new continuing resolution (CR) to fund the federal government through the end of the year.
Last September the House of Representatives passed by an overwhelming vote a bill extending the USCIRF’s life for another two years. The bill was referred to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, where it has been held up – by Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), according to published reports.
Durbin’s office has not responded to inquiries and requests for comment....
It has drawn attention to the plight of Christians in predominantly Islamic countries such as Pakistan, Iraq and Nigeria; to ongoing religious restrictions and harassment of believers by Vietnam’s communist authorities; to incitement in Saudi school textbooks and materials used in mosques in the U.S.; to attempts by the Islamic bloc at the U.N. to outlaw religious “defamation” and promote blasphemy laws; and to the persecution of Baha’is in Iran, Buddhists and Protestants in Burma and Uighur Muslims in China.
A key function of the USCIRF has been its recommendations for the State Department to designate “countries of particular concern” (CPCs) under the International Religious Freedom Act, the same 1998 legislation that created the commission.
The Clinton, Bush and Obama administrations all followed some recommendations, but not others. The Obama State Department recently overruled USCIRF recommendations to designate Pakistan, Vietnam, Egypt, Iraq, Nigeria and Turkmenistan as “countries of particular concern” (CPCs), in addition to those currently on the list (Burma, China, Eritrea, Iran, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Uzbekistan.)
CPCs are countries whose governments either perpetrate or condone “systematic, ongoing, and egregious” abuses of religious freedom. The U.S. may impose sanctions or take other diplomatic steps as incentives to improve....
When the House debated the reauthorization bill on Sept. 14, its author, Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.) voiced frustration with the situation in the Senate, saying some members there “are trying to kill this commission, for some reason.”
“Quite frankly, I believe that some over there [in the Senate] and this very administration would not mind seeing this commission shut its doors,” he said.
During the same debate Rep. Christopher Smith (R-N.J.) described the USCIRF as “the quintessential watchdog agency in this town.”
“It doesn't get the big press, as Mr. Wolf said,” Smith said. “It doesn't have the big bucks – no K Street lobbyists – but it is a wonderful and a very important and effective commission that keeps track of religious persecution globally, that keeps us in line in the House and the Senate and also the State Department.”...
CitizenLink, an affiliate of Focus on the Family, is urging Americans to contact their senators to urge reauthorization of the USCIRF.
