THE ADVENT OF DAIRY-FARMING DROVE NEOLITHIC MIGRATION FROM MIDDLE EAST TO EUROPE

NK: New research has revealed that immigration from the Middle East to Europe was driven by the newcomers' sophisticated culture, mastery of agriculture - and their miracle food, milk.

...around 5300 BC, everyone in Central Europe was suddenly farming and raising livestock. The members of the Linear Pottery culture kept cows in wooden pens, used rubbing stones and harvested grain.

Many academics felt that invasion was the reason behind the rapid shift. However, new excavations in Turkey, as well as genetic analyses of domestic animals and Stone Age skeletons, indicate that around 7000 BC, a mass migration of farmers began from the Middle East to Europe.

These ancient farmers brought along domesticated cattle and pigs. They produced fresh milk, which, as a result of a genetic mutation, they were soon able to drink in large quantities. The result was that the population of farmers grew and grew.

Later, scientists discovered that the first milk drinkers lived in the territory of present-day Austria, Hungary and Slovakia.

There are also signs of conflict. The intruders differed from the continent''s Ice Age inhabitants "through completely different genetic lines," explained Joachim Burger, an anthropologist from the University of Mainz in southwestern Germany.

The more primitive existing inhabitants looked on in bewilderment as the newcomers deforested their hunting grounds, tilled the soil and planted seeds. This apparently upset them and motivated them to resist the intruders.

It is clear, however, that the dairy farmers won out in the end. During their migration, they encountered increasingly lush pastures, a paradise for their cowsd. An added benefit of migrating farther to the north was that raw milk lasted longer in the cooler climate.

The new food was especially beneficial for children. In the Neolithic Age, many small children died after being weaned in their fourth year of life. "As a result of consuming healthy milk, this could be greatly reduced," Hamburg biologist Fritz Hoffeler speculated. All of this led to population growth and, as a result, further geographical expansion.

Burger is convinced that milk played a major part in shaping history, just as gunpowder did much later.

In a most surprising development, not only has the prosecution asked the court in charge to clear Wilders of all charges, they even condemned the higher court's decision on which to indict him (Hat tip: Pajamas Media).

DO WE HAVE DEFICITS BECAUSE TAXES ARE TOO LOW ON ANYONE OR ANYTHING? NOPE.

Until January 1st of 2011, we will all labor under tax rates which were put in place by Bush in 2003.

Leftists have long argued these rates are bad, unfair and a gift to the rich and should be rescinded.

They did so in 2003 and 2004 and 2005 and 2006 and 2007 and 2008 - as tax revenues went up year after year.

Yes, we had deficits between 2003 and 2008, but they were declining until the Oil Bubble and the Housing Bubbles burst in 2008 - no mere coincidence.

In fact, in 2007 the US federal government received 2.569 trillion in revenues - THE MOST EVER.

In two short years, Obama has rung up two HUMONGOUS deficits of 1.6 and 1.4 trillion dollars. As much as ALL 8 years of the Bush Administration, and a rate which is more than twice as much as during the entire Bush presidency.

We have larger deficits now then in 2007 IN PART because revenues have declined, and revenues didn't decline because tax rates declined.

Revenues declined because the economy is shrinking and fewer people are working.

WE CANNOT TAX OUR WAY OUT OF THESE OBAMA DEFICITS.

If we want to decrease deficits all we have to do is get the economy to grow again; this will increase revenues ands decrease outlays; outlays will be decreased because the federal government outlays more during recessions as government dependency and welfare expenses increase during recessions.

On top of the natural increase in these welfare outlays, the Obama Administration increased outlays believing that it would forestall a depression: they felt that the federal government had to be a spender of last resort in order to keep aggregate spending as high as possible.

This was a mistake.

Not only did most of the spending go to unnecessary pork barrel boondoggles (which mostly benefited Democrat Party Machine cronies), but most was on unnecessary projects with Zero multiplier effects. Remember: if multiplier effects were real then the USSR would today be the richest nation on Earth.

Obama's average annual federal budget is 1 trillion dollars higher than Bush's worst year.

If we want to cut the deficit it only makes sense to cut this trillion in new unnecessary spending; it makes sense to raise taxes.

Revenues will ONLY go up when the economy grows.

Growth is what we must seek.

The left's long sought after "soak the rich" goal will not reduce the deficit because they will slow economic growth.

Slowing economic growth hurts the poor and the working poor the most. What working people like me need is a growing economy with more opportunity, not an economy based on government dependency.

We can undo the Obama spending debacle and spur the economy to grow quite easily: JUST VOTE GOP THIS NOVEMBER.

Obama was the US Senator from Illinois before becoming POTUS. Obama got that job from the Chicago Machine. Before that, Obama was am Illinois State Senator from the Chicago Machine... (BTW: Michelle Obama's father was a Chicago Machine Alderman).

Before that, Rahm was a Congressman from Chicago. The Machine gave Rahm the seat that was formerly held by Rod Blogojevich who gave up the seat when the Chicago Machine made him Governor of Illinois.

So if the Machine wants Rahm to be mayor of Chicago, then he will become mayor of Chicago - whether the people of Chicago like it or not, and despite the fact that he has never run a successful business or even been a successful executive of any in any operation private or public.

Despite the fact that he doesn't meet the residency requirements.

Rahm certainly did an awful job of running Obama's WH the last two years.

If elected, Rahm's Chicago will make Detroit look like the Elysian Fields.

In all of recorded history, no ideology has murdered more people or enslaved more than Islam.

We should no more condemn the burning of the Koran than condemn the burning of Mein Kampf. We should no more tolerate Islam than Nazism.

And we should remember that as evil asd Nazism was, Nazism was less evil than Islam: Nazis didn't destroy any art nor routinely disfigure and enslave women or deny them an education.

True Islam and modernity do not and cannot coexist.

THE HAGUE WANTS TO MAKE WILDERS SHOW TRIAL WORSE

Andrew Bostom at Big Peace reports that the court of The Hague wants to make things even worse for Geert Wilders by allowing the hateful imam Fawaz Jneid to sue Wilders for using his hatemongering as one of the examples to make the point about Islam in his documentary short Fitna. Jneid was surely one of the reasons why Theo Van Gogh was murdered. Jneid even incited against Ayaan Hirsi Ali, and has recently been radicalizing Muslim children. Wilders' response to this bigoted man in 2008 was as follows:

This hateful imam has cursed [former MP and Islam critic] Ayaan Hirsi Ali, [filmmaker and assassinated Islam critic] Theo van Gogh and [Iranian-born law professor] Afshin Ellian. And he has said the most terrible things. He shouts louder than a pig. I’m not going to pay him a single dime.

Nor should he even bother going to the kangaroo court that's collaborating with this Islamofascist criminal in an effort to stifle free speech. This does tell however, how European courts are going to need serious restructuring to prevent dangerous criminals from exploiting them. That's something Wilders' own party needs to make clear in their coalition agreements in the parliament.
