Two studies in the news this week. A study in Stockholm reveals that there's a demand for virginity operations in the city. Among those who want to do the operation are women who've been raped and wish to conceal the fact. The full report will be published in 2009. In Denmark a PHD student wrote a thesis about Danish imams, discovering that there are all sorts.
Radicalism and Terrorism
A British think tank published a disputed study about Islamic extremism on British campuses. The study shows a significant number of Muslims would want Sharia law in Muslims and would justify killing to protect their religion.
A jury in London reached a deadlock in the trial of three Muslims accused of helping the July 7 bombers. The case is probably going to a retrial. Meanwhile, a top military officer says that British Muslims are fighting for the Taliban in Afghanistan.
In France 11 young Kurds, suspected of being PKK sympathizers, are to be tried for attacks on Turks.

Finland is considering legalizing male circumcision, based on the child's consent. The practice is carried out by both Jews and Muslims, though Jewish children undergo the operation when they're eight days old, making consent difficult.

In the Netherlands, just less than half the population think doctors should take religious concerns into account when treating patients.

In the UK Shia Muslims are upset at their depiction in a documentary about the Koran.

Document Expert Discovers Another Person's birth certificate Used To Forge Obama's
The evidence that the certificate of live birth (COLB) produced to prove the date and place of Sen. Barack Obama's birth is a forged document just keeps getting more damning. A board-certified computer forensics examiner with more than 20 years experience, including clearance by the U.S. Department of Justice for sensitive work, has determined that the Obama COLB is a digitally modified forgery based on a COLB belonging to another person. The expert, using the pseudo name "Techdude", intends to disclose the identity of the person to whom the COLB belongs if the responsible person does not come forward and accept responsibility for the forgery. Techdude writes at the Texas Darlin blog, a pro Clinton blog, as follows:
Techdude, since surfacing on the Texas Darlin blog in recent weeks to question the authenticity of the Obama COLB, has been criticized by pro-Obama supporters for refusing to identify himself. "My full name and contact information will be released shortly once the entire set of facts has been released to the public," Techdude writes. "This way if I end up at the bottom of a construction site someplace in NJ the world will still have all the information I was going to provide." Earlier, Techdude reported that pro Obama supporters had tracked down his home address, vandalized his car and hung a dead rabbit over his doorway.

For a quick preview - the original COLB used to create the KOS COLB image belongs to a female and does not belong to Obama. Another follow up report will reveal exactly who the original underlying COLB did belong to. Trust me when I tell you it is going to be one hell of a major twist that no one would have seen coming. I had to quadruple check my results because I did not even believe it and I currently have a few other people double and triple checking my results as well just to be 100% sure.
That said, and in the interest of fairness, if the people responsible for forging the COLB come forward and admit their liability the name of the original COLB owner will not be released publicly. It is only fair to give the guilty parties a chance to take responsibility for their actions before it embarrasses a lot of people and ruins some people's reputations.
As a heads up to the guilty parties - the names and dates have already been restored - as has the fact the owner is a female born in the 70's. That is all that will be revealed publicly for now. Besides if I turn up in a ditch someplace the information is already in a few 3rd party hands and they will just release it in my place. If anyone still believes the KOS COLB is legitimate after reading this article they should seriously think about seeking professional help.

It would of course drive the Jewish conspiracy theorists out of their tiny brains but the real fun would be seeing how the Left would make this into a "racist" choice. Calling black white (Whoops! "A young Jewish congressman from the battleground state of Virginia has joined the shortlist to be John McCain's vice-presidential running mate. Eric Cantor, 45, would be a dramatic choice for Mr McCain, who is running almost level with Barack Obama in national polls but whose aides believe he needs to shake-up the White House race if he is to prevail in November's general election.
Aides to Mr McCain revealed that Mr Cantor, the only Jewish Republican in the House of Representatives, had been asked to submit documents as part of a rigorous vetting process to hunt out any closet skeletons.
Mr Cantor would be by far the most exciting - though potentially risky - choice. A prodigious fundraiser with a young, photogenic family, support from evangelical Christians and strong backing from hard-line conservatives, he would shore up many of Mr McCain's weaknesses.
Mr Cantor would be the first Jewish vice-president, an historic milestone that Senator Joe Lieberman just missed in 2000 when Al Gore lost to George W Bush by 567 votes.

INSTAPUNDIT STILL WRONG ON SCHIAVO

Both houses of Congress voted overwhelmingly to stop/slow down the Florida courts'/Schiavo's ex-husband and give Terri's family an opportunity for more judicial review, (203 to 58 in the House and by UNANIMOUS CONSENT on the Senate).
This is not surprising, after all... WHAT WAS THE RUSH!?!? An overwhelming number of both Democrats and Republicans felt the Schindler's deserved another chance to save Terri from CERTAIN DEATH.
So it was not a partisan effort. It was BIPARTISAN.
It is wrong for Glenn to uncharacteristically regurgitate Democrat spin on this.
BTW: you can be arrested for animal cruelty for doing to a squirrel what the state of Florida did to Terri.
The new case Glenn links to is interesting.
I am especially disturbed by the fact that expense has again become an issue.
HERE'S WHY:
If Obama is elected (GOD FORBID!) and if he and Pelosi and Reid socialize/nationalize healthcare in the USA, then the state will be on the hook for all medical expenses and they may well pull everyone's plug ASAP!
After all, when they pull the plug they reap a DOUBLE SAVINGS: they save the medical expense and the social security payout.
This alone is reason NOT to nationalize healthcare and to privatize pensions.
IMHO: The GOP popularity tracks more exactly to - and is causally more tied to - the reporting on the Iraq War.

HARRY REID PROVES MITT'S MORMONISM SHOULD BE A NON-ISSUE
If Harry Reid can be a scumbag lib AND a good Mormon, then Mitt can be a good conservative and a good Mormon.
Their mere membership or the membership of any person seeking public office in the Church of Latterday Saints shouldn't effect anybody's vote.
As a Jew, I feel that Mormons are God-fearing people who believe in the Ten Commandments.
That's good enough for me.
Reid's left-wing partisan political policies are what make him unacceptable, not his sectarian faith.
Mitt has many great qualities which would serve the nation well - in many capacities: as president one day, as Veep, as White House Chief of Staff, as Sec Treas, GOP Chair, etc.

Did you follow that? I am not sure I did but the idea seems to be that menthol encourages black kids to smoke and smoking is bad for you so allowing menthol in cigarettes is racist. When your argument is flimsy, the race card is always a great help. The article also claims that cigarettes are dangerously radioactive.
The article is by by Banzhaf, a lawyer notorious for far-out lawsuits about "threats" to health emanating from everyday products. I gather that his activities have made him a rich man.

Sitemeter problem over
Some readers who kept getting crashing pages yesterday may be interested to know that the culprit was Sitemeter. Here is the Sitemeter apology. It's only barely an apology.
Some people are excusing them by saying that it is Microsoft's fault for having a limitation in IE but it was a known limitation and putting up new code without testing it was thoroughly negligent.
And why did Sitemeter take about 24 hours to fix it? They could have reloaded the older version of their code within minutes! I doubt that I will use sitemeter again. It put people to a lot of trouble trying to fix the error. Some bloggers changed their templates (as I did) and some readers reinstalled their browser. A big waste of everybody's time.
Blogger.com apologizes too. Apparently the rash of blocked blogspot blogs was a data processing error too. First blogger.com and then sitemeter. Why can't these galoots check their code before they thrust it upon their unwitting users?

Now that things in Iraq have calmed down, the only violent and dangerous hell-holes/quagmires in the Middle East are Gaza and southern Lebanon.
GEE: I WONDER WHY?
COULD IT BE JIHADISM?
Yes.
Hamas is back doing what they love most after killing Jews: killing Fatah.
Hizballah is merely in hibernation.
The only way we end the quagmire is to drain the swamp.
And the way to drain the swamp is not with more aid.
It's by rubbing out jihadists.
