WHEN HOMESCHOOLING IS A BAD IDEA

The New York Times (via Hot Air Headlines) writes one of their sugarcoated articles about Islamists, here being how they turn to homeschooling. And here, it looks like a lot of those staying at home for teaching are girls. Just a sign of how the parents clearly don't want them making outsider friends, do they? While as for the boys, we can only guess what they'll learn at home when doing so, eh?

One of them even has the chutzpah to insult western girls:

“I don’t want the behavior,” said Aya Ismael, a Muslim mother home-schooling four children near San Jose. “Little girls are walking around dressing like hoochies, cursing and swearing and showing disrespect toward their elders. In Islam we believe in respect and dignity and honor.”

Classic, classic.

If it weren't for the fact that girls seem to be the biggest victims of this homeschooling problem, I'd say it's better that they go learn at home instead of complaining about US schools not accomodating their needs. However, if girls are the main ones subjected to this, I'm not sure.

Conservatives' Hate-Based Campaign Against Obama

The heading above comes from an article by Paul Waldman in the Leftist American Prospect magazine. The article begins as follows:

"The right-wing smear campaign against Barack Obama has already begun. Conservatives intend, as they have so many times before, to appeal to Americans' ugliest prejudices and most craven fears

The article that follows is full of hate -- towards conservatives -- and is just one long accusatory diatribe about race. So who is the hater and who is obsessed by race?

As far as one can make out, the "campaign" Waldman refers to is the publicity about Obama's crackpot black racist Pastor. So objecting to black racism makes you a racist, apparently. That probably makes sense in the weird world of the Left. What is in no doubt, however, is that Waldman himself is filled with hate. Just read his article if you do doubt it.

For instance, he says that the GOP will "wage a campaign appealing to the ugliest prejudices, the most craven fears, the most vile hatreds". If that's not hate, I'd like to see him get wound up!

Misleading Reports About Antarctica

Last year when Antarctic set a new record for ice extent, it got no media attention. They focused on the north polar regions where the ice set record low levels. This summer when unprecedented anomalous cover continued in the Southern Hemisphere again no coverage. Then this report in the news today. You probably saw it on your favorite network or internet news site (pick one, anyone).

Vast Antarctic Ice Shelf on Verge of Collapse - Latest Sign of Global Warming's Impact Shocks Scientists

A vast ice shelf hanging on by a thin strip looks to be the next chunk to break off from the Antarctic Peninsula, the latest sign of global warming's impact on Earth's southernmost continent. Scientists are shocked by the rapid change of events. Glaciologist Ted Scambos of the University of Colorado was monitoring satellite images of the Wilkins Ice Shelf and spotted a huge iceberg measuring 25 miles by 1.5 miles (37 square miles) that appeared to have broken away from the shelf. Scambos alerted colleagues at the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) that it looked like the entire ice shelf - about 6,180 square miles (about the size of Northern Ireland)- was at risk of collapsing. The region where the Wilkins Ice Shelf lies has experienced unprecedented warming in the past 50 years, with several ice shelves retreating in the past 30 years. Six of these ice shelves have collapsed completely: Prince Gustav Channel, Larsen Inlet, Larsen A, Larsen B, Wordie, Muller and the Jones Ice Shelf.

Lets put this in perspective. The account may be misinterpreted by some as the ice cap or a significant (vast) portion is collapsing. In reality it and all the former shelves that collapsed are small and most near the Antarctic peninsula which sticks well out from Antarctica into the currents and winds of the South Atlantic and lies in a tectonically active region with surface and subsurface active volcanic activity. The vast continent has actually cooled since 1979.

The full Wilkins 6,000 square mile ice shelf is just 0.39% of the current ice sheet (just 0.1% of the extent last September). Only a small portion of it between 1/10th-1/20th of Wilkins has separated so far, like an icicle falling off a snow and ice covered house. And this winter is coming on quickly. In fact the ice is returning so fast, it is running an amazing 60% ahead (4.0 vs 2.5 million square km extent) of last year when it set a new record. The ice extent is already approaching the second highest level for extent since the measurements began by satellite in 1979 and just a few days into the Southern Hemisphere winter and 6 months ahead of the peak. Wilkins like all the others that temporarily broke up will refreeze soon. We are very likely going to exceed last year's record. Yet the world is left with the false impression Antarctica's ice sheet is also starting to disappear.

Britain: Girls' computer game condemned

Shoot-em-up games are OK but encouraging weight loss is bad??

"A website that encourages girls as young as 9 to embrace plastic surgery and extreme dieting in the search for the perfect figure was condemned as lethal by parents' groups and healthcare experts yesterday. The Miss Bimbo internet game has attracted prepubescent girls who are told to buy their virtual characters breast enlargement surgery and to keep them "waif thin" with diet pills.

Healthcare professionals, a parents' group and an organisation representing people suffering anorexia and bulimia criticised the website for sending a dangerous message to impressionable children.

In the month since it opened the site, which is aimed at girls aged from 9 to 16, has attracted 200,000 members. Players keep a constant watch on the weight, wardrobe, wealth and happiness of their character to create "the coolest, richest and most famous bimbo in the world". Competing against other children they earn "bimbo dollars" to buy plastic surgery, diet pills, facelifts, lingerie and fashionable nightclub outfits. The website sparked controversy when it was introduced in France, where it attracted 1.2 million players.

It was Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn describing the state of Soviet criminal law under Stalin in The Gulag Archipelago: 1918-1956. There was something like over 400 Soviet agents and fellow travellers in the State Department, alone, where he had estimated 200.

Now, imagine the amount of Soviet infiltration into institutions in a country that was not actively looking for Soviet infiltrators. And what you get is modern-day Britain.

My wife is doing some research for her Fine Arts degree on Abstract Expressionism. Her research is leading her down toward the direction in which madness lays...She has discovered the physical, academic, and institutional links between modern art, the Institute for Social Research (aka the Frankfurt School), Antonio Gramsci, the Ford Foundation, and loads of other links in the Communist/Socialist movements of the 20th Century. She had no idea the full extent of the forces working to undo Western Civilisation, with that end being part of their stated goals.

And it is becoming more and more apparent, the more one looks at what these people and their fellow travellers actually stated what they would do, and what has come about in the West over the last 50 years, that there just might be a link between the collapse of the Church, the state of higher education, the intellectual dishonesty of the mass media, and the intentions of the Communists.

Unfortunately (?), there is no central COMINTERN to control the direction of the growing disorder in the West. And now that the Pandora's Box has been opened, one wonders whether these forces that were unleashed beginning from the 1920s (or even before), will ever be stopped. I do believe we live in "interesting times" as the Chinese curse goes. There is more Solzhenitsyn to come...My copy of The Gulag Archipelago now has several dog-eared pages to indicate more gems like the one above.

DOES BRAIN-DEAD MEAN "DEAD" OR JUST LIBERAL AND ANTI-LIFE?

One has to wonder about the definition of brain-dead, after this man, who was declared brain-dead, came back to life and started appearing on talk shows:

OKLAHOMA CITY - Four months after he was declared brain dead and
doctors were about to remove his organs for transplant, Zach Dunlap says he
feels "pretty good."

Dunlap was pronounced dead Nov. 19 at United Regional Healthcare System
in Wichita Falls, Texas, after he was injured in an all-terrain vehicle
accident. His family approved having his organs harvested.

As family members were paying their last respects, he moved his
foot and hand. He reacted to a pocketknife scraped across his foot and to
pressure applied under a fingernail. After 48 days in the hospital, he was
allowed to return home, where he continues to work on his recovery.

On Monday, he and his family were in New York, appearing on NBC's
"Today."

"I feel pretty good. but it's just hard ... just ain't got the
patience," Dunlap told NBC.
Dunlap, 21, of Frederick, said he has no
recollection of the crash.

"I remember a little bit that was about an hour before the accident
happened. But then about six hours before that, I remember," he said.

Dunlap said one thing he does remember is hearing the doctors
pronounce him dead.
"I'm glad I couldn't get up and do what I wanted to do,"
he said.

Asked if he would have wanted to get up and shake them and say he's
alive, Dunlap responded: "Probably would have been a broken window that went
out."

His father, Doug, said he saw the results of the brain
scan.

"There was no activity at all, no blood flow at all."

Zach's mother, Pam, said that when she discovered he was still
alive, "That was the most miraculous feeling."

"We had gone, like I said, from the lowest possible emotion that a
parent could feel to the top of the mountains again," she said.

She said her son is doing "amazingly well," but still has problems
with his memory as his brain heals from the traumatic injury.

"It may take a year or more ... before he completely recovers," she
said. "But that's OK. It doesn't matter how long it takes. We're just all so
thankful and blessed that we have him here."

Reading down into the article (way down, almost near the end), it makes sense why he would be photographed in front of this flag: “He flew the Israeli flag over his cot in Adhamiya.” Given that Agami willingly fought for and died for this country, I don’t see anyone having a problem with his choice of decor.

What is a problem is the fact that the Times uses this particular photograph to illustrate an article about American troops who have died in Iraq. One simply can’t escape the impression that the Times is trying to send the subliminal message — a very strong subliminal message — that Americans are fighting and dying for Israel, not for America.

It would be nice to believe that the Times highlighted this particular photograph because its editors wanted to make the point that ours is an exceptionally pluralist army, made up of Americans representing the vast tapestry of race and religion that enriches America. Given the Times‘ political biases, though, it’s very difficult to escape the conclusion that some editor couldn’t resist making a political point...

An IDF non-commissioned officer was arrested on suspicion of giving Hizbullah information on the whereabouts of IDF troops, the Haifa Military Court announced Monday.

The officer was arrested a month ago in an joint Israel Police, Military Police and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) operation.

He allegedly gave over the details to Hizbullah in exchange for the guerrilla group allowing him to smuggle drugs into Israel.

In addition, two more suspects were arrested by Galilee police for allegedly running the drug dealing ring - a 30-year-old Nazareth resident and a 26-year-old man from Tuba Zangariya. The two were indicted Sunday on suspicion of smuggling into Israel two kilograms of Heroin with a street value of one million shekels.

Meanwhile, a 20-year-old female IDF soldier was arrested for allegedly being part of an Arab car theft ring which stole scores of private vehicles across the country, police said Monday.

The soldier, Tamar Marton of Jerusalem, is suspected of aiding a group of 12 east Jerusalem Arab residents who allegedly stole dozens of private vehicles from the capital and other major Israeli cities over the last year, Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said.

The ring was broken up by police this week after a six- month long investigation.

The 12 Arab suspects, all residents of east Jerusalem in their 20's, allegedly sold the vehicles to a Palestinian car pound near the West Bank city of Ramallah for NIS 1000-4000 each.

Make them do hard labor on a rockpile, I suggest.

Fitna Is An Elaborate Practical Joke? I'm Not So Sure About That

It is being reported that the Fitna Movie is merely an elaborate practical joke, played by Geert Wilders. The idea behind the joke would have been to show exactly how much the world could get worked up over the mere rumor of a movie.

It should be fairly obvious by now that there is no "Fitna" movie. No movie to insult Islam or Muslims or anyone else for that matter. The month of April is upon us, we all know the month of April starts with the 1st April and that day is famous for (practical) jokes.

Holland might not be considered as a country with a great sense of humour but ever once in awhile even in Holland they crack a joke. So, bottom line; if you are here to find the Famous Fitna movie I guess you have been had !!!

On the other hand, if you are worried about how much unrest the rumour of a 15 minute movie about Islam can create, maybe it is time to identify and deal with the issues at hand.

When points of view are miles apart, the truth can usually be found near the middle.


In my opinion, those last two paragraphs do not represent Geert Wilders world view.

They certainly do not represent my world view.

I'll give you an example of how absurd this statement is, and why it likely did not come from Wilders.

Nazi Germany had one point of view, and it was miles apart from that of America's point of view.

Could the truth "be found near the middle"?

Not at all.

And, Wilders knows that we are in the same situation with Islam. Radical Islam is a Nazi-like threat. The world view of radical Islamists is a hate-filled world view which allows for no Freedom of Conscience, Freedom of Religion, or Freedom of Speech.

There is no middle ground to be had with such a world view.

Think about it, implicit in the above message is the idea that we are somewhat crazy to believe that Muslims will go nuts over the mere release of a movie. Recent history shows us that Muslims can and will riot and murder over the slightest provocation. So, it is not at all crazy for us to expect it from them.

I have to wonder who has hacked Wilders site. Sounds like a Leftist to me, someone who doesn't believe there are real truths in this world.

UPDATE: Others are buying it. If I this statement really is the words of Geert Wilders, then it is poorly worded, in my opinion.

UPDATE II: Thanos at Noblesse Oblige says the above-linked site is NOT Geert Wilders site in the first place, so as I thought, the message is probably not Wilders' message.
