DIEUDONNE GETS CHARGED FOR MOUTHING OFF WITH ANTI-SEMITIC SLURS

Dieudonne, the pseudo-comedian whom Jean-MarieDhimmi Le Pen has been getting chummy with lately, has been charged by a French court for his anti-Semitism:

(IsraelNN.com) The French High Court has overruled a lower court decision and decided that humorist Dieudonne M'Bala M'Bala slurred Jews in January 2002. In an interview with a newspaper, he was quoted as saying, "Racism was created by Abraham. The 'Chosen People' [is] the beginning of racism. Muslims today are just answering back."

He also stated that "anti-Semitism does not exist because the Jews do not exist.... In my opinion, the Jews are a sect, a rip-off."

A lower court has decided that the remarks were aimed against the influence of religion and not against Jews, but the High Court ruled in favor of Jewish groups who appealed the decision.

Dieudonne was making racist cracks, and in the second paragraph, he was trying to confuse the differences between the Jewish race and its founding religion. His slur is definitely bizarre.

POLICE STATE GERMANY

Did you know that in Germany, homeschooling is still illegal? And has been ever since the days of the nazi regime. And to make matters worse, they even seem to consider taking away the children of people who dared to practice homeschooling acceptable:

German authorities who sent 15 uniformed police officers to take custody of a 15-year-old girl who committed the crime of being homeschooled now have suggested a solution that, in their minds, would "resolve" the situation: the parents should give up custody of their other five children.

The situation involving Melissa Busekros has been in the headlines ever since the beginning of this month, when the officers arrived at her parents' home with a court order allowing them to take her into custody, "if necessary by force."

It's clear that Germany has a long way to go, if at all, if they're to become a real democracy. This is truly despicable, and needs to be taken to task as best as possible.

Breastfeeding has negligible effect on babies' IQ

In view of a post appearing earlier on this blog, I thought the following article might be of interest

It is one of the most hotly debated topics in pregnancy and early motherhood. Does breastfeeding really boost a baby's intelligence? Now the largest scientific study yet carried out has settled the issue. Breastfed babies are indeed smarter - because their mothers are. Mothers who breastfeed tend to be more intelligent, more highly educated and to provide more stimulation at home. The higher IQ of their babies is therefore mostly inherited, accounting for 75 per cent of the difference between them and bottle-fed babies, the researchers found.

The rest of the difference is down to the environment in which they are raised. Breastfed babies have mothers who are older and better educated, and live in nicer homes where they get more attention. When all these factors were taken into account, breastfeeding made less than half a point's difference in the intelligence scores - laying to rest a myth that has held sway for almost 80 years.

Geoff Der, a statistician from the Medical Research Council's social and public health sciences unit at the University of Edinburgh, said: "This question has been debated ever since a link between the two was first discovered in 1929. We found 73 articles which dealt with the link." He added: "Breastfed children do tend to score higher on intelligence tests, but they also tend to come from more advantaged backgrounds."

The study, published online by the British Medical Journal today, is based on US data on the breastfeeding history and IQs of 5,000 children and 3,000 mothers, which was not available in the UK. Mr Der concluded: "There is no reason why the same findings would not apply here."

The researchers also looked at families where one child was breastfed and the other wasn't. This confirmed the findings that breastfeeding made no difference to IQ. Mr Der said: "Intelligence is determined by factors other than breastfeeding. But breastfeeding has many benefits for both mother and child. It is definitely the smart thing to do."

In England and Wales, 77 per cent of babies are breastfed but more than a third of mothers stop within the first six weeks. Nine out of 10 mothers in the professional and managerial class start breastfeeding, compared with just over six out of 10 among manual workers.

Breastfeeding boosts the baby's immune system and protects against infections, and reduces the risk of asthma and eczema in childhood. It also reduces the risk of diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity in adulthood.

But Rosie Dodds, policy researcher at the National Childbirth Trust, said evidence from parts of the world where breastfeeding is more common among poorer women cast doubt on the claim that it had no link with intelligence. In the Philippines, where bottle feeding is a sign of status preferred by working mothers, a study published in the Journal of Nutrition in 2005 found that babies who were breastfed had higher intelligence, despite their more deprived backgrounds.

Ms Dodds said: "We cannot rule out an influence of breastfeeding on intelligence especially in babies born prematurely who may have missed out on what their biological growth would have been. Breastfeeding is more likely to provide the nutrients they need to grow and develop." Another study of 14,600 babies, half of whom were breastfed, conducted by University College hospital, London, and published in the US journal Pediatrics this year, found there were more developmental delays among the children who were bottle fed.

Self-congratulating Tokenism

We read:

"Meeting on the grounds of the former Confederate Capitol, the Virginia General Assembly voted unanimously Saturday to express "profound regret" for the state's role in slavery.

Sponsors of the resolution say they know of no other state that has apologized for slavery, although Missouri lawmakers are considering such a measure. The resolution does not carry the weight of law but sends an important symbolic message, supporters said.

"This session will be remembered for a lot of things, but 20 years hence I suspect one of those things will be the fact that we came together and passed this resolution," said Delegate A. Donald McEachin, a Democrat who sponsored it in the House of Delegates

IMMIGRATION WATCH

I don't seem to be able to help myself. I have started yet another blog -- called Immigration Watch. The topic is such a red-hot one that I felt I should do more in that field. I have in the past put up a lot about immigration on PC Watch but it is not really a good fit there. I am not sure as yet whether I will be posting daily to the new blog but I suspect so. I already have a fair bit up.

Lets You And Him Fight

I was reading Michael Totten's blog and came across this interview of him by the Jerusalem Post. One part of the interview caught my eye. (Question by the Post in bold)

Are Syria and Iran still supplying Hizbullah? Have they recovered from the war last summer?

Absolutely. Hizbullah is as strong, or at least nearly as strong, as they were last July. Iran and Syria will continue supplying Hizbullah until they fear the consequences of continuing their support or until no one in Lebanon is willing to receive their support. Right now everyone who dies because of Syrian and Iranian support for Hizbullah is Lebanese or Israeli. They have no reason to stop until that equation is altered.

This fits in with some of my posts from last summer (July and August '06) where I said Israel must take on Syria if it was to accomplish its war aims.

Now it looks like, although Israel thinks a war with Syria is not likely this year, it is preparing for a war with Syria. Perhaps the Israelis are wizing up.

WHAT ARE THE OSCARS?

A politically correct, liberal love fest!! An opportunity for snobby, Hollywood elitists to bash Bush, our country and the people who live in the midwest and believe in traditional values. I love movies but the Oscars very rarely nominates or awards people and/or movies that I like. The only winning movies in the past 11 yrs. that I've thought were worthy of Oscars were Braveheart and Titanic.

Last night the movies nominated for best documentary included a propaganda film about global warming, a film that bashed Christian home schoolers, a film that bashed Catholic priests, a film about Iraq from the perspective of "An outspoken critic of the U.S. occupation", and another film about Iraq described like this, "told by Iraqis living in a time of war, occupation and ethnic tension". All of these documentaries reek with political correctness and a hostility to average, every day Americans.

So Al Gore got his Oscar last night for best propaganda film. Melissa Etheridge also won for best song from the film and she said this after kissing her wife:

"Mostly, I have to thank Al Gore for inspiring me, showing me that caring about the earth is not Republican or Democrat, it's not red or blue. We are all green," Etheridge said.

I thought I was going to be ill.

Does Gore getting the award impress me? No, I figure if Michael Moore can get one they aren't that hard to earn. Then I see that Gore is Carter's favorite pick to run for president on the Democrat ticket for 2008. Go here to see the video. I literally am shaking my head trying to figure out who is more insane, Carter or Gore? It's a toss-up!!

Bottom line:
There are a lot of good movies out there but few that will be nominated, let alone win Academy Awards.

TRAITOROUS COLLABORATORS ARRESTED

Some traitors to Israel were arrested in Tel Aviv:

Police said Sunday they had arrested Israeli staff at two Tel Aviv companies, suspected of helping channel funds to the Hamas and Islamic Jihad Palestinian militant groups. Authorities raided offices of Shintrako Ltd. and Mayan Customs Brokers and International Forwarding Sunday in the Tel Aviv suburb of Ramat Gan, the police said in a statement. Police arrested the general manager of Shintrako and other workers of the two companies, the statement said.

Mayan accountant Tzvika Koren denied that anyone from the company was arrested and said police had only questioned several employees, including himself. The company was not involved in any illegal activity, since it only relayed Shintrako imports through customs, Koren said.

Shintrako did not immediately return a call requesting comment.

The companies are suspected of funding Hamas and Islamic Jihad through a company they did business with in the Gaza Strip, the statement said. Shintrako had been warned not to work with the company but found ways to help it get around trade restrictions imposed by Israel, the release said. Police report an increase during the past year in the flow of clandestine finance to Palestinian militant groups squeezed by a financial blockade imposed by international aid donors since Hamas last year won parliamentary elections and control of the Palestinian government.

"These funds are used as fuel to ignite terror and they allow these organizations to preserve and expand their organized infrastructure," the police statement said.

Anyone making business investments in Israel, whether or not they're residents, would do well to avoid doing business with these traitorous companies.

IDF RAIDS AND PUTS CURFEW ON SHECHEM (NABLUS)

A positive step taken by the IDF:

Dozens of Israeli jeeps and armored vehicles poured into Nablus overnight Sunday, placing large areas of the city under curfew and conducting house-to-house arrest raids in one of the largest West Bank military operations in months. The army also took over local television and radio stations, ordering people to remain indoors and warning residents that the clampdown would remain in effect for several days, Palestinian residents said. Two soldiers and several Palestinians were lightly wounded in clashes, officials said.

An Israeli military spokesman said the operation was aimed at countering "terrorist threats" in Nablus. The raid came a day after Israeli troops discovered an explosives laboratory in the city. Nablus, the West Bank's largest city and commercial center, is known as a stronghold of Palestinian militants. [...] The Israeli forces began moving into Nablus about 3 a.m. and continued to move in for several hours, Palestinian witnesses said. They said about 80 military vehicles, along with several bulldozers, were in the city.

The bulldozers erected huge piles of rubble to block movement on main roads, witnesses said. The main entrance to the city also was closed.

It should remain that way too. If Fatah is going to allow terrorists (whom the AP refers to in PC-terms as "militants") to maintain bases there, then it can't be opened again until they're all cleaned out.

Addiction is a Genetic Disease

Surpisingly the NIDA says “addiction” is a genetic disease triggered by environmental factors. They had to be dragged kicking and screaming to this conclusion. It was pretty much established science by the time they allowed as how it might be true. Here is what they have to say:

Evidence from adoption and twin studies and from animal models suggests that vulnerability to addiction has a moderate to high heritable component. The gene variants underlying increased vulnerability to addiction are unknown, but new advances in science and technology will facilitate the identification and characterization of these gene variants.

Breast Feeding Increases IQ

Since I have a post up on cognitive ability and how it seems fixed, I thought it would be a good idea to post this bit of advice.

There is now considerable evidence that breast-fed children have higher intelligence. For a long time it was impossible to be certain this was not merely because the more intelligent mothers (whose children received good genetic and environmental backgrounds) were those who could breast feed, or chose to do so. However, research by Lucas et al. (1992) with premature babies fed through a tube and the type of milk randomly selected has shown that those given human milk do indeed have a higher intelligence when tested as children. The effect was an amazing 10 IQ points.

Massachusetts Judge Ignores First Amendment

But discovers a non-existent "diversity" amendment! We read:

"A Federal judge in Boston has dismissed a suit by two families who wanted to stop a Massachusetts town and its public school system from teaching their children about gay marriage, court documents show.

The families last year filed the suit asserting that the reading of a gay-themed book and handing out to elementary school students of other children's books that discussed homosexuality without first notifying parents was a violation of their religious rights.

Federal Judge Mark Wolf ruled yesterday public schools are "entitled to teach anything that is reasonably related to the goals of preparing students to become engaged and productive citizens in our democracy.'' "Diversity is a hallmark of our nation. It is increasingly evident that our diversity includes differences in sexual orientation,'' he said. ....

A lawyer for the families said they would appeal the ruling, the Boston Globe reported today.

It sounds to me that the judge was "prohibiting the free exercise" of religion. More background here. The chief plaintiff, David Parker, was simply asking to be notified in advance when homosexuality was going to be taught in the school his little kid (aged 5) was attending.

OVERFEEDING IS NOW CHILD ABUSE IN BRITAIN

Overweight adults are already being denied some medical services in Britain. This criminalization of fat is therefore a harbinger of worse discrimination to come. I suppose however we should be glad that the social workers now seem to have given up on witchcraft scares as a way to attack families. At least fat is not imaginary. Progress of a sort, I guess. Wouldn't it be nice, though, if they concentrated on (say) children of drug addicts instead of on ordinary decent families? Social work schools are covens of Leftism and the ingrained Leftist hatred of ordinary decent people happily getting on with their lives is always the best predictor of whom social workers will target. You can be sure that no social worker will ever mention how small the difference is between the average lifespans of slim and overweight people. A "crack" baby, or a baby with fetal alcohol syndrome, on the other hand, DOES have serious problems.

Note further that dieting normally promotes weight GAIN so the intervention described below is as ill-conceived as it is authoritarian.

An eight-year-old boy who weighs 14 stone, more than three times the average for his age, may be taken into care if his mother fails to improve his diet. Connor McCreaddie, from Wallsend, near Newcastle upon Tyne, has broken four beds and five bicycles. The family claims to have a history of intolerance to fruit or vegetables. On Tuesday his mother and grandmother will attend a formal child protection conference to decide his future, which could lead to proceedings to take him into care.

Connor could be placed on the child protection register, along with victims of physical and sexual abuse, or on the less serious children in need register. The intervention of social services is a landmark in the fight against youth obesity. The boy's mother, Nicola McKeown, said: "If Connor gets taken into care that is the worst scenario there could be. Hopefully, we will be able to work through it and come up with a good plan and he will just be put on the at-risk register or some other register. That wouldn't be so bad because, hopefully, there will be some help for us at the end of it."

RICK WARREN CONTINUES TO SHOW BAD JUDGMENT

I take no pleasure in criticizing an Evangelical leader but Rick Warren continues to make bad decisions. One of the things about Christian leaders in power is that they need to be held accountable and it doesn't seem that Warren is by anyone.

1) I talked about his questionable judgment when he made his controversial remarks after visiting Syria. 2) Then he invited ultra-liberal Barack Obama to his Aids conference at his church. 3) He is one of many supposed Evangelical leaders joining forces with those that believe in man-made global warming.

Now I find out that he is planning a trip to North Korea. What do you think the odds are that in order to preach there he will be required to say nice things about Kim Jong Il? Do you think the pot-bellied dictator is going to allow a Christian preacher in without having some requirements? North Korea persecutes Christians and has a horrible human rights' record. Here is an excerpt from the article showing some of the concerns:

Warren's acceptance of the invitation drew wide criticism from many Christians and the general public. Many believe it is a propaganda exercise to show that North Korea has a free church, and the crowd of 15,000 is not expected to have any real Korean Christians.

The trip shouldn't be postponed, it should be cancelled. Rick Warren needs to start listening to some voices of reason.

DUKE LACROSSE TEAM SURGES TO FIRST WIN

Playing their first game in 11 months, the Blue Devils opened the 2007 season Saturday with a 17-11 victory over Dartmouth in front of a big crowd cheering their every move.

It was a triumphant return for the Blue Devils, whose season was canceled last spring amid the rape allegations that touched off a debate on sports, race, class and privilege at the elite university. And it was clear this game was more than a game, from the steady stream of students who poured into Koskinen Stadium on a sunny February afternoon to the throng of reporters covering the event.

"It feels right to be back," said Madolin Archer, mother of senior defenseman Breck Archer. "They've been working toward it for so long and the interruptions certainly have prolonged things. But it's where they should be."

The crowd of 6,485 fans - a few hundred shy of the school record - rivaled that typically drawn by Duke's woeful football team. The fans packed the bleachers to support a team that until last year was lost in the shadows of Mike Krzyzewski's storied basketball team.

"It really makes me proud to see them come out and give this team support," athletic director Joe Alleva said. "It's what I hoped for, for sure."

CHAVEZ SPENDING BILLIONS TO ARM VENEZUELA

Venezuela’s arms spending has climbed to more than $4 billion in the past two years, transforming the nation into Latin America’s largest weapons buyer and placing it ahead of other major purchasers in international arms markets like Pakistan and Iran.

Venezuelan military and government officials here say the arms acquisitions, which include dozens of fighter jets and attack helicopters and 100,000 Kalashnikov assault rifles, are needed to circumvent a ban by the United States on sales of American weapons to the country.

Chavez has QUADRUPLED arms purchases since coming to power. ALL come from socialist nations: Spain (under Zapatero), Russia, Iran, etc. Chavez is transforming Venezuela into the new Cuba for the 21st century, and will certainly use the force in order to expand his power geopolitically. He is an ally of our enemies and must be neutralized sooner or later. The longer we wait, the worse the losses will be for all sides. Pity.

L.A. JEWISH AND KOREAN COMMUNITIES CONDEMN KOREAN HATE BOOK

In a followup to this subject I wrote about earlier, the Los Angeles Times reports that L.A Jewish and Korean community leaders have both condemned "Monnuru Iunnara":

Korean American community leaders who met with a top official at the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles on Friday said they were disgusted by anti-Semitic depictions in a comic book by a popular South Korean author and vowed to mobilize community resources to launch a protest against the publisher.

Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean of the Wiesenthal Center, met with the group and said he would visit Seoul on March 15 to raise concerns about the comic book. He said its publisher has an obligation to pull the book from the market and replace it with one that depicts Jews accurately.

I think a book that gives an accurate and respectable picture of the Jewish community, as well as for the white and black communities, would be quite welcome for a change indeed.

NO CHANGE ON SANCTIONS FOR ABBAS

And yet, "Mickey D'Orsay", as Phillipe Douste-Blazy is nicknamed, proved to be as bad and insulting as his own boss, Chirac. From the AP Wire:

PARIS - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas ended his European tour Saturday without persuading any country to end crippling economic sanctions based on his power-sharing deal with the rival Islamic militant Hamas.

The bright spot in his trip was a promise Saturday from French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy to work with a government that includes Hamas and Abbas' more moderate Fatah party. His comments were more positive than those of other European leaders during Abbas' four-country tour. But Douste-Blazy made no commitments on resuming aid frozen since Hamas won parliamentary elections a year ago.

Enough pushing the "moderate" tommyrot already, AP. As for Douste-Blazy, while he may not have made any commitments on aid, he's still a disgrace if he's willing to work with Abbas (and I wouldn't be surprised if Britain's government was even even more welcoming in their reception, even if it doesn't actually say so here).

STILL MORE VIOLENCE IN GAZA

No sooner is there a discussion about "unity" that takes place in Saudi Arabia than everything breaks down anew. Two days ago, there was fresh violence following the killing of a youth. Now, there's more clashes taking place, the latest over the killing of a Hamas commander. At least four killed and 20 injured.

They even say they expect a new coalition formed by next month. But with the way things are going now, there's no telling if that'll last long.

"MISSION CREEP IN IRAQ" - A HUGE LIE OF THE LEFT ON THE IRAQ WAR

One of the HUGE current lies the Left is spreading about the war in Iraq, is that the mission has changed since they authorized war - AS IF they only authorized war against Saddam because he had WMD, WMD which are not there. They claim that supporting the Iraqi people's efforts to establish a democratic government is "mission creep."

Biden - the freakin' CHAIR of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee said this:

"We gave the president that power to destroy Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and, if necessary, to depose Saddam Hussein," Biden said of the 2002 resolution in a speech last week before the Brookings Institution. "The WMD was not there. Saddam Hussein is no longer there. The 2002 authorization is no longer relevant to the situation in Iraq."

This is one of the rationalizations they give for "needing" to REVOKE that authorization and replace it with a new, MUCH NARROWER one.

This is simply bullsh*t. Purely and simply TOTAL bullsh*t. And since the Leftie Dem doves know is BS, it is really nothing else but a freakin' LIE.

Biden and the rest of the DEFEAT-O-CRATS know this and are either disingenuous propagandists and liars, or they are the stupidest assholes ever to serve in the Congress. I think they are smart liars. The United States has no quarrel with the Iraqi people. They've suffered too long in silent captivity. Liberty for the Iraqi people is a great moral cause and a great strategic goal.
