“He would attack people in a smug way that was harder-edged and more insulting than was necessary, said Mark Salter, the former chief of staff to Senator John McCain, the Arizona Republican, adding that lawmakers in both parties shared this view. “He was a bully who was not a potent enough force to be a bully.”
I LIKE MOST OF HIS POSITIONS ON THINGS - BUT NOT ALL.
I DO NOT LIKE HIS STYLE - AT ALL.
AND I CANNOT FORGIVE HIM FOR SUPPORTING SPECTER OVER TOOMEY.
THAT PROVED HE WAS REALLY AN ESTABLISHMENT INSIDER.

As Mark Levin explained the other night, Santorum's support for Specter was because of his decent work on the Judiciary Committee, which Rick believed was crucial.
That said, all candidates are imperfect. And some are more imperfect than others.
ok, then, in rick's mind good bureaucratic work on a senate committee trumps abortion and so much else.

the simpler explanation is rick was playing ball with the establishment and out that over what he otherwise portrays as core beliefs.
which makes him full of shit.
and no more pure a conservative than mitt.
