RACIST AND ANTI-MERITOCRATIC OP-EDITORIAL FROM NYTIMES

THIS OP-ED WRITER FOR THE NYTIMES IS UPSET THAT A SUPERIOR PUBLIC HIGH-SCHOOL IN NYC - (WHICH ADMITS STUDENTS ON THE BASIS OF GRADES/TEST RESULTS/ ESSAYS) - ONLY HAS 3% BLACKS AND 3% LATINO STUDENTS:

New York City’s Top Public Schools Need Diversity 

WASHINGTON — NEW YORK CITY’S elite public high schools were always meant to provide a quintessentially American blend of academic excellence and democratic accessibility. Unlike the city’s expensive private schools, they would be free and open to all who were academically qualified, irrespective of pedigree 

“You pass the test, you get the highest score, you get into the school — no matter what your ethnicity, no matter what your economic background is,” Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg said in 2012. But this year, only 5 percent of seats at those eight schools were offered to black students and 7 percent to Latinos, in a city where the public schools are 70 percent black and Latino. At Stuyvesant High School, just 3 percent of offered seats this year went to black and Latino students.

When the number of black and Latino students admitted to a public school is a tiny fraction of their share of the general population, it raises red flags about the fairness of the admissions system.

INSTEAD OF ADMITTING LESS QUALIFIED STUDENTS - AND THEREBY REFUSING MORE QUALIFIED STUDENTS - MAYBE THE LEFTISTS AND THE NYTIMES OUGHT TO DEMAND THAT BLACK AND LATINO STUDENTS DO BETTER IN SCHOOL.

LEFTISTS AND ORGANIZATIONS LIKE THE NYTIMES WOULD RATHER OUR MOST QUALIFIED CANDIDATES  BE DENIED WHAT THEY EARN,  IN ORDER TO REWARD PEOPLE BASED ON THEIR RACE.

THIS IS RACISM.

IT'S DISGUSTING.

IF THE NBA USED THIS KIND OF CRAP TO MAKE SURE EACH TEAM HAD THE SAME PERCENTAGE OF WHITES ON EACH TEAM AS IN THE GENERAL POPULATION, THEN THE LEVEL OF PLAY WOULD TAKE A HUGE STEP DOWN.

BLACKS EARN HIGHER REPRESENTATION IN THE NBA AND THEY EARN THE HUGE SALARIES THEY MAKE.

IF NYC SCHOOLS WERE ADMITTING WHITES WITH POORER MERITS AND DENYING BLACKS AND LATINOS WITH HIGHER MERITS AS A RESULT, THEN THERE WOULD BE A JUSTIFIABLE UPROAR AND HUGE OUTRAGE.

MORAL PEOPLE RECOGNIZE ADMITTING BLACKS AND LATINOS WITH LOWER SCORES THAN WHITES IS JUST AS HORRIBLE AND IMMORAL - AND RACIST.

LET'S MAKE SURE EVERY STUDENT EARNS THEIR ADMISSION BASED ON THEIR ABILITY, AND NOT THEIR SKIN COLOR.
