MESSY STASI ARCHIVE

A researcher, Thomas Wegener Friis has found evidence that a well known living Dane was a central figure for the Stasi Spy network in the West.   Friis found this spy through his persistent existence in many various case files in spite of the fact that the Stasi destroyed this persons central file shortly before the fall of the Wall.  This demonstrates how difficult it is to purge a complicated paper archive.

Friis will not name the Spy because his evidence must be incontrovertible - otherwise Friis could face charges for defamation of character.

But is it a coincidence that just last week it has emerged that Danish Police Intelligence (PET) cannot find it's files on Ole Sohn ...and that they may have been destroyed after orders of the previous socialist government?
