TWENTY & TEN FOR 2010

"TWENTY & TEN FOR 2010"

That's what I'd love to see as the GOP campaign slogan for this year's election.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

It means all GOP candidates should support and 20% cut in spending and a 10% across the board tax cut - IN ADDITION TO MAKING THE BUSH TAX CUTS PERMANENT.

A 20% spending cut and a 10% across the board tax cut.

It's what Poizner wants for California - (PDF).

It's what the federal government should do too.

(At the very least every candidate should support extending the Bush Tax Cuts. Any candidate who won't should be defeated!)

UPDATE:

SOME PEOPLE THINK WE CAN'T CUT THE BIDGET BY 20%, THAT IT'S UNREALISTIC.

THEY ARE WRONG; WE CAN CUT THE BUDGET BY 20%:
  • THE BUDGET WAS 20% SMALLER UNDER CLINTON; IF THAT AMOUNT OF SPENDING WAS OKAY FOR CLINTON, THEN IT SHOULD BE OKAY NOW FOR OBAMA.
  • OBAMA AND HIS COMRADES OFTEN ARGUE THAT IF THEY LET THE BUSH TAX CUTS EXPIRE THAT THE TAX RATE WILL ONLY BE AS HIGH AS IT WAS UNDER CLINTON.
  • FINE, THEN MAKE THE SPENDING THE SAME AS UNDER CLINTON!

  1. I hear a lot of cries for nonspecific spending cuts.
    That part's easy.

The current plan for fiscal 2011 is $3.8 trillion in spending. I'd like to hear some ideas on exactly which $760 billion you want to remove from the budget.
