TIMES OF LONDON WANTS TZIPI LIVNI TO BE PRIME MINISTER

The elections for Israel look likely to take place now. Predictably, some left-wing press sources and such are going out of their way to promote foreign minister Tzipi Livni as someone who should be prime minister. Yes, this very same person who was part of what's basically a left-wing led government, and certainly isn't a reliable one. The Times of London, for example, via Israel Insider, has been shilling for her.

Can we be clear here about something? She is no different from Ehud Olmert, and has gone along with him from day one. She's certainly an opportunist. She never quit her position when the Winograd committee's first reading was given last year.

I guess that's why I'm disappointed in Rick Moran at the American Thinker for being an example of someone stateside who's naive about this: he calls Ehud Barak a "powerful Israeli defense minister" just like that, and implies that he supports Livni without second thoughts. Does this mean that if Ariel Sharon were still around, he'd give his full support to him regardless of whether he did something good or bad?

No matter where you live in the world, you shouldn't be naive and assume to know who fits the bill for a political role without doing proper work with a microscope. That's exactly the problem occuring here, IMO.
