UC-IRVINE SCIENTISTS: 20% OF ALL GLOBAL WARMING DUE TO DIRTY SNOW

UPDATE: TAB scooped the entire blogsphere on this story by more than 12 hours.
Both Evil Glenn and Jonah of NRO ripped off this post without a hat-tip. Both were emailed this post last night at 10-ishPM. I can't prove that they used my link, but neither has ever linked to a Webwire story before. I emailed it to several big bloggers in the hope that it would get wider coverage, so I'm glad they posted on it. It would gentlemanly if they gave TAB a hat-tip.
WEBWIRE:

The global warming debate has focused on carbon dioxide emissions, but scientists at UC Irvine have determined that a lesser-known mechanism – dirty snow – can explain one-third or more of the Arctic warming primarily attributed to greenhouse gases. ...

Dirty snow has had a significant impact on climate warming since the Industrial Revolution. In the past 200 years, the Earth has warmed about .8 degree Celsius. Zender, graduate student Mark Flanner, and their colleagues calculated that dirty snow caused the Earth’s temperature to rise .1 to .15 degree, or up to 19 percent of the total warming.
Er um... Does this mean we should start trading dirty-snow credits and pass dirty snow taxes?

ALSO: If 20% is from dirty snow, I bet that most of the rest is cyclical solar/cosmic ray/cloud related. AND THAT ZERO HAS TO DO WITH CO2.

This news means that we have NO REASON to slow out use of fossil fuels; we merely need CLEANER fuels (with less soot).

It means that taxing CO2 is WORTHLESS - if the point was to slow global warning.

If the point was to shackle industrialization, globalization, and the free market, then by all means Lefties: keep pushing for them. And they will, after all, THAT was always their main goal anyhow.
