THE EXAMINER:
“President Bush’s leadership is achieving a steady flow of results that do not always dominate the day’s headlines on their own but that together represent real progress for the American people,” Bartlett said. ... “In today’s political climate, daily headlines and fast-moving events make it easy to lose the forest for the trees,” Bush counselor Dan Bartlett wrote in a memo this week. “But there is a clear tide of positive developments that reflect the president’s ability to get things done.”Things are far from perfect: al Qaeda refuses to surrender in Iraq; gasoline prices remain high; the federal budget is filled with pork. Nevertheless, despite all that - and the constant negativity from the MSM - the Bush Administration's policies are advancing (see the article for some of Bush's recent successes). WHICH MEANS: be patient; be resolute; don't worry; don't overreact; keep the faith.
Since the budget contains garguantaun sums of pork sponsored by Bush, guess his agenda is kind of self-defeating. Pork domestic and pork related to spending on a no-win war.
ReplyDeleteAl Qaeda not surrendering means 10% of the resistance is not surrendering. Neither are the home grown Sunni nationalists, both Baathist and non-Baathist. Perhaps even worse, neither is Al-Sadr's militia disbanding nor those of the
Badr Corps. They're not jihadists
but they are militantly anti-American biding their time to cement an alliance with Iran.
Oh, and part of the gas price
increase is caused by the Mideast instability and sabatoge of Iraq oil-caused by Bush's invasion.
Guess we don't need a high-powered
microscope to see Bush's agenda is
largely self-defeating,including
his guest worker sellout on immigration.
