TIMES UK:
Bashir Nafeh, director of military intelligence chief in the West Bank, was named as being among the dead. He had stopped in Amman with Colonel Abed Allun, a high-ranking security official, and Rawhi Futtah, the commercial attache at the Palestinian Embassy in Egypt and brother of the speaker in the Palestinian parliament. All three were staying in the Grand Hyatt.WERE THESE MEN TARGETED?
AND HERE'S A CORRECTION TO AN EARLIER REPORT:
No truth to report of Israeli evacuations before Amman bombs -- By Yoav Stern, Haaretz Correspondent:
There is no truth to reports that Israelis staying at the Radisson SAS hotel in Amman on Wednesday were evacuated by Jordanian security forces before the bombing that took place there. The Israelis were escorted back to Israel by Jordanian security personnel only after the attacks had taken place, contrary to earlier reports.
UNFORTUNATELY, this correction will NEVER gain as much currency as the earlier, false, anti-Semitic report. WHY? Because lies which reinforce irrational stereotypes are more appealing to those with the prejudices than the simple truth which undermines their prejudices. And, as Churchill said:
MORE HERE.A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.
