[UPDATE: BUMPED UP] - This "BIRDS OF A FEATHER" routine might become a running series. Earlier in the week I posted about the Vonnegut/Kerry flock. Now it's CHAVEZ AND KENNEDY; WASHPOST:
"... Venezuela's state-owned oil company will supply oil at 40 percent below market prices. It will be distributed by two nonprofit organizations, Citizens Energy Corp. and the Mass Energy Consumer Alliance. ... U.S. Rep. William Delahunt, D-Mass., met with Chavez in August and helped broker the deal. ... Joseph P. Kennedy II is chairman and president of Citizens Energy Corp. ... The agreement gives President Hugo Chavez's government standing as a provider of heating assistance to poor U.S. residents."There was a time when another Kennedy - a noble NEO-CON Kennedy known as president JFK - FOUGHT central American and Carribean dictators, just as Reagan would two decades later. Now the LEFT-WING REMNANTS of the once proud Kennedy clan is reduced to being PR tools of dangerous socialist tyrants. JFK AND RFK MUST BE SPINNING IN THEIR GRAVES!
This says something important about NOT ONLY the state of the Kennedy clan, but of the American Left they lead; it says they have jumped the shark. They equate the Sunni jihadoterrorists with our "Minutemen" and help tyrants get good PR. Shameless. What a pity. More HERE and HERE and (on a regular basis) HERE.
Pastorius, a regular commenter, earlier noted this: "Isn't it amazing that Leftists can't pull their head up out of the sand, once in awhile, and look around, and see who their friends are?" I agree: The Left should look around and see who they stand with: when it comes to withdrawing from Iraq they stand with ZARQAWI; one of their biggest HOLYWOOD supporters - Michael Moore, and another literary one - Kurt Vonnegut openly LAUD AND APPLAUD the jihadoterrorists; and now, their prized aristocracy - the Kennedy's - openly and unabashedly do PR for the hemisphere's most dangerous tyrant - Hugo Chavez. YUP: the Left should look around, and then look in the mirror!
THEN AGAIN, maybe I shouldn't be surprised; after all, this comes from the folks who fear AshKKKroft more than Binladen! Heh! UPDATE: MORE HERE. More HERE from the great ECONOPUNDIT.
This is a public relations masterstroke.
ReplyDeletePresident Chavez is helping the American poor to cope with high-energy prices during winter, whereas President Bush hasn’t done anything to bring the oil price down.
W’s popularity is to receive another hit and Chavez’s image in the States will be the one of a Robin Hood.
And there is more. A similar deal is being cooked to sell cheap oil to low-income Bronx resident.
They recently published a survey in Guatemala measuring Bush’s popularity against Chavez’s in the Central American country. Bush won by a little edge. My guess is that if they do the same survey in Massachusetts Chavez would win the vote by more than a little edge.

er um... WE DON'T LIVE IN THE USSR! the price of oil if determined by the free market/marketplace NOT the govt.
thank God.
one of the most basically WRONG beliefs of Leftism is that Leftists believe that a relatively small group of intellectuals can better determine the correct value of thinsg then a marketplace.
it hasd NEVER woekd that way.
a marketplace is nore efficient and accurate and true and fair.
why?
well, besides the fact that it just has alwys worked out thast way
there's this:
a marketplace is made up oif MANY MANY people of many MANY talents and a very VERY broad knowledge pool. ACCUMALATIVELY they have more intellect than ANY small group of intellects.
think of it as a HUMONGOUS series of computers in a HUGE INTERNET or as a HUGE parallel computing network.
it is snmarter than any small group.
that's why the price that the market puts on an items is almost alwys better/more accurate.
alsdo: free markets/free people - folks who are free to read and write and make and buy and sell what they want to -
are more creative and productive.
govt control stifles that.
hence: the fact that ALL socialist markets and economies do less well than free/capitalist ones.
china was a starving basketcase after 50 years of socialism.
after a decade of free markets they became a food exporter and an econmy to be reckoned with. ditto indoa.
so camilo: give up on this goivt control attitude.
it doesn't work. it never has. it never will.
chavez is BANKRUPTING his nation.
as all socialist dictators do.
ditto castro - remember, when he took over cuba, it was the 2nd richest natuion in the caribbean. now it is the second poorest to haiti.
BTW: the price of gasoline will soon be below 2buks.
and the higher nat. gas proces are due to the storms.
so just forget about it.
thanks again for popping in. come back. you'll learn sumpin everyday!
KYLE: that's not a crowd to drink and drive with! or smoke with. i have a feeling they roll their own, if you know what i mean...
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Reliapundit thinks we have a FREE MARKET!
ReplyDeleteyo anonymous troll;
ReplyDeleteplease explain to me
(1) what a free market is
and
(2) how the price of oil is determined
and
(3) what the price of oil is.
These political whooores are of the same ilk as those who played Saddam's oil for food scam with the UN!
ReplyDeleteAlthough it may seem silly to heat water for your local birds, this extra is important for those living in cold weather. Instead of your bird bath freezing over when Old Man Winter comes calling or having to repeatedly break the ice on the surface of your bird bath, the heated models ensure the water never freezes and is always available for the birds.
