WHAT NIXON AND VIETNAM TEACH US ABOUT IRAN

ARE NEGOTIATING AND "GOING KINETIC" MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE?

NOPE.

NIXON BOMBED HANOI AND MINED HAIPHONG HARBOR AND GOT THE NORTH VIETNAMESE TO SERIOUSLY NEGOTIATE AT THE NEGOTIATING TABLE AND IT LED TO A DEAL:
In 1972, the Nixon administration kindled a major controversy when the president ordered the renewal of bombing of Hanoi and Haiphong (April 16) and the mining of Haiphong Harbor as well as other harbors and inland waterways in North Vietnam (May 9). In addition, U.S. naval forces increased raids against coastal installations and put into effect a naval blockade of the North Vietnamese coastline. In a televised speech to the nation on May 8, 1972, Nixon defended his escalation of the air and sea war as crucial to cut off the flow of supplies to North Vietnamese troops fighting in the South and to protect the lives of American forces still in Vietnam. Also, Nixon contended that the raids and the minings were calculated to pressure the North Vietnamese government into resuming critical negotiations to achieve peace in Vietnam.
ONLY 6 MONTHS LATER, IN TALKS THAT HAD BEEN GOING ON MORE OR LESS FOR 4 YEARS, THEY SIGNED A PEACE DEAL - ONE THAT WOULD HAVE LASTED (AND ALLOWED SOUTH VIETNAM TO BECOME ANOTHER SOUTH KOREA) HAD THE DEMOCRATS NOT PULLED THE PLUG ON FUNDING THE SVG.

(REMEMBER: THE LAST US TROOPS LEFT VIETNAM IN 1973 AND SOUTH VIETNAM DIDN'T FALL UNTIL 1975!)

OBAMA-THE-APPEASER HAS AGREED TO MORE POINTLESS TALKS WITH IRAN - TALKS THAT WILL PROBABLY JUST GIVE IRAN MORE TIME TO MAKE A BOMB.

NIXON'S BOLD AND EFFECTIVE ACTIONS PROVE THAT THE FREE WORLD CAN DO MUCH MORE KINETICALLY TO GET IRAN TO GIVE IN: WE CAN AT LEAST PUT IN A BLOCKADE AND BOMB THEIR MILITARY ASSETS.

HARSH WORDS HAVE OBVIOUSLY FAILED.
