UNLIKE NEWT, MITT DIDN'T DUMP HIS WIFE WHEN SHE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH MS

JUST SAYING.

CUZ IT SHOWS CHARACTER - AND CHARACTER COUNTS.

CHARACTER IS NOT ATTACKING JOHN KING AN DIANE SAWYER AND GEORGE STEPHANOPOULAS.

CHARACTER IS NOT BEING FINED $300,000 BY A GOP CONTROLLED ETHICS COMMITTEE.

CHARACTER IS NOT BEING A SHILL FOR FREDDIE MAC.

CHARACTER IS NOT PLAYING FOOTSIE ON A COUCH WITH PELOSI.

AND CHARACTER IS NOT BEING A SERIAL ADULTERER WHO DUMPED HIS SECOND WIFE ONLY AFTER SHE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH MS.

THEY HAD PROBLEMS BEFORE THEN, BUT IT SEEMS TO ME THAT HE DECIDED TO DIVORCE HER ONLY AFTER SHE GOT SICK.

THAT SHOWS BAD CHARACTER.

MITT'S WIFE ANNE ALSO HAS MS. AND THEY SEEM INSEPARABLE.

THAT SHOWS THEY BOTH HAVE GOOD CHARACTER.

THAT'S SOMETHING THAT NEITHER CALLISTA OR NEWT HAVE.

NEWT MAY BE BRIGHT AND HAVE A "GRAND" IMAGINATION, BUT HE HASN'T GOT THE GOOD AND DECENT AND TRUE AND TRUSTWORTHY CHARACTER WE NEED IN THE OVAL OFFICE.

  1. Frankly, I can't get up much enthusiasm for either Romney or Gingrich.

But I'd vote for GOP candidate who can defeat Obama. Well, not Ron Paul, but he's not going to be the nominee anyway.

  3. Reliapundit,
    Can Romney win?

I'm not sure although I've seen the stats you've post.

Voters in the voting booth can be notoriously unpredictable.

Unseating an incumbent POTUS is difficult, to say the least. I'm very worried that the GOP is going to blow this chance. Four more years of Obama? The mind reels!

  4. "but newt can't win."

    Neither could Reagan.

Oh, and McCain was a "moderate Republican" who showed that he could work across the aisle. Where did that get him (and us)?

FYI, I don't think that anyone can say for sure. Obama is an enormously unpopular President, and we have 9 1/2 months for him to further screw things up - so the unelectable thing is just speculative at this point.

Further, why is it that Romney, if he's so electable, has never been able to rise above roughly 25%-28% in national polls of Republicans? If he can't really motivate people in his own party, what does that say about his ability to persuade the national electorate.

FYI, I'd say the same for anyone dumping on Romney in favor of Gingrich. My only goal right now is to be rid of that cancer upon our country that currently inhabits the White House - I frankly don't care who gets rid of it, so long as its gone for good.

Why don't we stick to the respective candidates' views on the issues and make our decisions based on that. All of the remaining Republicans have negatives/baggage of one kind or another (as do ALL people - no one is perfect), so why focus on that? Why not focus instead on what is best about someone we like in the primaries. One of these guys will face Obama - let's not cut either off at the knees before the general election campaign even gets underway.
