WHAT IF THE HOUSING MARKET WAS AS VOLATILE AS THE STOCK MARKET?

WHY ARE STOCKS SO MUCH MORE VOLATILE THAN OTHER THINGS?

BECAUSE SO MANY PEOPLE AND INSTITUTIONS TRADE IN THEM AND STOCKS CAN BE TRADED SO READILY - IN HUGE NUMBERS, AND THE TRADES ARE TRACKED BY THE SECOND.

THE PROCESS OF SELLING A HOUSE IS MICH MORE COMPLICATED AND SLOW.

AND HOUSING SALE REPORTS AREN'T ISSUED EVERY SECOND THE WAY STICK SALES ARE.

WHAT SHOULD BE DONE ABOUT THIS?

NOTHING.

WE SHOULD JUST PAY A HELLUVA LOT LESS ATTENTION TO THE STOCK MARKETS, AND TO COMPUTERIZED TRADING MARKETS IN GENERAL.

AND WATCH THEM ONLY WEEKLY OR MONTHLY OR QUARTERLY.

NOT DAY-TO-DAY OR HOUR-TO-HOUR OR MINUTE-TO-MINUTE.

WE EMPOWER THEM BY WATCHING THEM TOO CLOSELY AND CARING TOO MUCH.
