CHAVEZ DOES NOT NEED TO EXPROPRIATE

While the socialist regime in Venezuela has expropriated some land and oil assets - Chavez has other tools to use against capitalist interests.

For example, the government of Venezuela owes a Danish food supplier - ØK - approximately $100 million US dollars.

Chavez knows that the expropriation of ØK could upset the fragile food supply in Venezuela.

Meanwhile ØK cannot afford to quit Venezuela... and as long as Chavez can keep the Danes on the hook, he will have some certainty that at least part of the food supply chain will remain intact.
