ABOARD AIRFORCE ONE, OBAMA TELLS NYTIMES HE MAY APPEASE TALIBAN

NYTIMES:
President Obama declared in an interview that the United States was not winning the war in Afghanistan and opened the door to a reconciliation process in which the American military would reach out to elements of the Taliban, much as it did with Sunni militias in Iraq.
  • I DON'T THINK THAT THE SUNNIFICATION OF OUR EFFORTS IN IRAQ IS AN APT MODEL.
  • I GUESS OBAMA REALLY WANTS TO EMULATE THE PAKISTANI REGIME AND APPEASE ISLAMO-FASCISM.
  • OBAMA AND THE PAKIS DON'T CARE.
  • BOTH SCUM.

  1. Sunni Islam is a branch of Islam, like the Methodist church is a branch of Christianity. The Taliban is a virulent political party. To say that comparing the two is not "apt" is a tremendous understatement.

Call me crazy, but sometimes it feels like Obama is not on our side.

  2. Obama is not one of us.
Even Jeremiah Wright and Whoopi Goldberg are starting to figure that out.

  3. During the election I sensed that he would lay down to the Taliban! For all that talk of giving the woman rights in Afghanistan he had no intention. If he walks away from Afghanistan he the Democrats will suffer a bad defeat next term. He will be lucky if a militarty group doesn't go after him!

  4. Hey everybody let's not forget tomorrow is Muhammad's b-day for the Sunnis.

I am going to have a special post dedicated to that purveyor of peace, love, joy and harmony...

As for BHO, remember how they pushed to oust Musharraf, a SOB but our SOB...things would get better in Pakistan and by consequence in Iran, Afghanistan and India.

I also concur, Afghanistan is NOT Iraq and you cannot employ the same strategies which worked there, plus we have a Pres. who has been in opposition to the main general in this global struggle.

  6. Afghan leader Karzai backs Obama's call on Taliban

KABUL, March 8 (Reuters) - With violence in Afghanistan at its highest since the Taliban was ousted, Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Sunday welcomed U.S. counterpart Barack Obama's openness to adapting tactics used to deal with moderate elements in Iraq.

"Yesterday, Mr. Obama accepted and approved the path of peace and talks with those Afghan Taliban who he called moderates," Karzai said during a function in Kabul to mark International Women's Day.

"This is a good news ... this is approval of our previous stance and we accept and praise it," he said.

  7. KARZAI IS INEPT OR A COWARD.

I HAVE SAID FROM THE START WE SHOULD HAVE NUKED TORA BORA IN 2001.

WE ARE STILL THERE BECAUSE OF HALFASSERY.

KISSING THE ENEMIES ASS WON'T IMPROVE THINGS.

    IT'LL JUST STRENGTHEN THE ENEMY.

AS REAGAN SAID IN HIS RENDEZVOUS WITH DESTINY SPEECH; WE CAN HAVE PEACE ANYTIME WE WANT: JUST SURRENDER.
