COMPARING THE HEROIC SACRIFICES NEEDED FOR VICTORY: COMPARING US CASUALTIES IN WW2 TO WW4

In WW2 we lost about 405,000 men to liberate the world from the Axis powers.

Each soldier's death contributed to that victory.

About 450,000 US troops died in that WW2.

In Europe, about 150,000 died so that about 350,000,000 Europeans might be free. A ratio of 1:2300. In a way, each soldiers death liberated 2300 people. That's if you count ALL of Europe; if you only count Western Europe - THE ONLY PART WHICH TRULY BECAME FREE IN 1945, then the ratio is 1:1200.

In Iraq and Afghanistan only 50,000,000 were liberated. And only 4000 of our heroic soldiers have been killed. A ratio of 1:12,500.

Roughly, 5x better - if you count ALL of Europe, and 10x (TEN TIMES!) better if you only count Western Europe.
  • And we are doing this with minimal collateral damage in Iraq and Afghanistan - especially compared to WW2.
  • Not only are our casualties lower, but our efforts are proportionately MORE effective.
  • In short: our military is doing an important brilliantly.
God Bless the troops.

And God Bless the families of all who served and have served.

Especially those who lost love ones.

The entire Free World is in debt to them. Their sacrifices make us free and keep us free.
