ReplyDeleteas for khgaddam: when i first suggested he form a govt in exile - a week before he announced it - i made it clear that it would be ONLY abridge to the next step.
a useful bridge which might help keep syrai from devolving into chaos as iraq did for a while.
1st khaddam, then a intl conference to help all opposition parties and all factions wqithin syria begin self-government like we did for afghanistan (a conf was held in berlin, i think).
then we can trans them into a constitution and elections like in iraq and afghanistan.
so khaddam can be a useful bridge.
along with the army.
i hope condi is aggressively seeking assad's quick voluntary exit/exile from the scene. with the help of mubarak and the saudis and others.
or tell him to go to iran.
let him go anywhere he wants with a pardon and with some money if he goes i the next month/before 3/1/06.
then get khaddam to be interim pres while they have conventions.
