RIP: ANITA EKBERG - MISS SWEDEN 1950, AND A NATIVE OF MALMO WHO WAS GAURANTEED NOT HALAL - CROSSES OVER

UK TELEGRAPH:
The Swedish-born star of La Dolce Vita, Anita Ekberg, has died in Rome at the age of 83.
The Swedish actress and model was best known for her role in Federico Fellini’s 1960 film La Dolce Vita, in which she played Sylvia Rank, the unattainable “dream woman” of the suave journalist played by Marcello Mastroianni.

In the most famous scene of the film, Ekberg wades into the Trevi fountain on an eerily quiet night in Rome in a long strapless black dress and sensually invites Mastroianni to join her, cooing “Marcello, come here, hurry up!”

The scene of Ekberg dancing, splashing and enticing Mastroianni into water is one of cinema’s most iconic romantic sequences.
The film won the Palme d’Or at the 1960 Cannes Film Festival and the Oscar for Best Costumes. To the irritation of the Italian authorities, Dozens of tourists have tried to jump into the fountain to duplicate Ekberg over the years.
After Mastroianni’s death in 1996, the fountain was turned off and draped in black in his honour.
It was also covered yesterday, but by the scaffolding of a one-year restoration project.
Originally from Malmo, Ekberg won the Miss Sweden title in 1950 at the age of 20, then set off for Hollywood.
RIP.
SHE STOOD FOR EVERYTHING THAT MADE SWEDEN FAMOUS IN THE 19060'S: BLONDS, BOOBS, HEDONISM, AND COSMOPOLITANISM.

THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING, SOON SWEDEN MAY STAND FOR NONE OF THOSE THINGS - ESPECIALLY MALMO - THE CITY WHERE EKBERG WAS BORN.

TODAY IN MALMO, WOMEN ARE MORE LIKELY TO LOOK LIKE THIS, THAN EKBERG:

OR - IF THEY DO LOOK A LITTLE LIKE EKBERG - THEY MIGHT END UP LOOKING LIKE THIS:

IT NEEDN'T BE SO...

SWEDEN MIGHT STILL REMAIN SWEDISH - IF SWEDES VOTE FOR THE SWEDEN DEMOCRAT PARTY.

IT'S NOW OR NEVER.

ANITA EKBERG WAS CERTAINLY GUARANTEED NOT HALAL:

ANITA EKBERG RIP.

I HOPE SWEDISH SWEDEN IS NOT RIP.

NOT EVER.
