THOUGH EBOLA IS TECHNICALLY/LITERALLY NOT "AIRBORNE", IT IS COMMUNICABLE VIA CONTACT WITH LIQUID SPRAYED VIA COUGHING AND SNEEZING

"AIRBORNE" TECHNICALLY MEANS DRIED, FLOATING "DUST" WHICH HAS THE VIRUS IN IT.

THE RNA VIRUS WHICH CAUSES EBOLA WILL NOT FLOAT AROUND LIKE THE DNA MEASLES OR CHICKEN POX VIRUSES, AND THEREFORE YOU CAN'T GET IT FROM THE AIR AROUND A PERSON WITH EBOLA, BUT IF THEY COUGH ON YOU OR SNEEZE ON YOU OR COUGH OR SNEEZE ON A SURFACE THAT YOU MAKE CONTACT WITH IN LESS THAN 5 HOURS, THEN YOU CAN ABSOLUTELY GET IT.

I THINK MOST PEOPLE IN THE GENERAL PUBLIC THINK OF "AIRBORNE" AS SOMETHING YOU CAN GET FROM A COUGH OR A SNEEZE AND I THINK THAT'S WHY THERE'S BEEN S MUCH CONFUSION.

THE FACT THAT EBOLA CAN BE COMMUNICATED VIA SNEEZING AND COUGHING IN ADDITION TO CONTACT WITH EXCREMENT AND PERSPIRATION MAKES IT ESSENTIAL THAT PEOPLE WITH EBOLA BE QUARANTINED AND THAT EBOLA HOT-SPOTS BE QUARANTINED.

  1. Reliapundit,
    Excellent explanation!

In a very practical sense for the layman, Ebola is indeed airborne.
