SUPRISED?

Ahmed Akkari, the young imam who helped fan the flames of hatred during the Muhammad Cartoon Crisis , has revealed that his entourage met with Hamas and Hizbollah while touring the ME to seek support for an indignant and violent response to the Cartoons published by Jyllands Posten.

Akkari has since renounced his extreme Islamist past and apologised for his actions. He is even gaining praise from rightwing Danish politicians for adding important detail and perspective to the historical record.

But let this be a warning to those who would like to believe there is some sort of insulating firewall between so-called middle of the road Islamic leaders and the more extreme military terrorist groups.  There isn't.
