I DON'T RECALL THAT OBAMA CAMPAIGNED ON MAKING "LGBT RIGHTS" THE CIVIL RIGHTS ISSUE OF OUR TIME

IF HE HAD, THEN HE WOULD HAVE LOST.

IT WAS A LIE OF OMISSION.

(HIS OBAMACARE LIE WAS A LIE OF COMMISSION.)

NOW, OBAMA HAS ONE OF HIS MINIONS OUT THERE SAYING LGBT IS A CENTRAL CIVIL RIGHTS ISSUE OF OUR TIME.

OBAMA'S OBAMACARE LIES AND HIS BENGHAZI LIES ARE WHY HE WAS RE-ELECTED.

OBAMA LIED AND THE MEDIA SWORE TO IT.

LYING IS OBAMA'S GREATEST SKILL AND MOST IMPORTANT ATTRIBUTE.

WITHOUT HIS ABILITY TO LIE SHAMELESSLY - (AS EVIDENCED AS EARLY AS IN  HIS MEMOIR AND ON THE NATIONAL STAGE WHEN HE LIED ABOUT REV. WRIGHT) - OBAMA WOULD STILL BE WORKING FOR ACORN IN CHICAGO.

AND THE COUNTRY - AND THE FREE WORLD - WOULD BE BETTER OFF.

If you don't recall that, then you must not have been paying attention.

It was 2012 when Obama publicly declared support for gay marriage. Even Joe Biden literally said that transgender discrimination is the "civil rights issue of our time" right before the election. http://www.politico.com/politico44/2012/10/biden-says-transgender-discrimination-civil-rights-147761.html

  2. sorry.

1 - nobody takes biden seriously.
2 - this was an aside spoken by biden, not a major policy statement.

my point is that obama is cynically using these side social issues to gin up his base while absolutely failing as a president to deal with the real problems this nation faces.

in fact; he's made most bad things worse.

    thanks for trying, though.

    OK, fine. Forget Biden.

So back to my first point, Obama during an election year publicly declared his Administration's support for same-sex marriage. It was the top news story for a week.

And even if he never talked about it during the campaign, so what? 51% of voters voted for him. A slightly greater percentage of Americans are in favor same-sex marriage.

You may think he's bad at a lot of things. I'm disappointed with him myself. But saying he never campaigned on this is flat out wrong.

  4. yes: obama reversed his long held support of the clinton passed d.o.m.a.

but it was not characterized by obama as our nations greatest civil rights challenge.

had he said that - and made it the centerpiece of his domestic doj agenda, then he would have lost.
