STUDENT PROTESTORS PULLED OUT AMERICANS FLAGS FROM 9-11 MEMORIAL FOR MIDDLEBURY

A very offensive act took place at the Middlebury College: at least 5 protestors pulled out nearly 3,000 USA flags that were posted in memory of the victims of 9-11. They even claimed in their defense that they're of Indian descent and that the lawn is supposedly an Indian burial ground, but Ward Churchill already used that to cover for and justify his own Chomskyism.

The 5 felons who committed this atrocity should be banished from the premises. It would help if any local Indian representatives were to condemn them as well for the embarrassment they caused.

And what if any of the 9-11 victims were of Indian descent too? Jihadists don't make any distinctions, and they hate Indians just as much as other Americans and Israelis. For all we know, there could have been some people who'd perished in the terrorist attacks who were Indian, and if so, then the moonbats who pulled out the flags desecrated their memory too. Which means that they really don't have respect for Indian heritage.

John Kerry made a request for the EU to postpone their funding ban on Israeli "settlements" (via AIM):

A senior U.S. State Department official told reporters in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius that Kerry called on the Europeans to consider postponing the implementation of EU guidelines on aid.

"There was strong support for his efforts and an openness to considering his requests," he said.

Why does he want them to "postpone" the ruling but not abandon it? And is that why the EU is fine with his request? Sorry, but this is just plain weak.

OMAR HAMMAMI KILLED BY HIS FELLOW JIHADIS

Along with Adam Gadahn in Pakistan - a former Osama bin Laden spokesman - the 29-year-old Hammami is one of the two most notorious Americans in jihad groups. He grew up in Daphne, a community of 20,000 outside Mobile, the son of a Christian mother and a Syrian-born Muslim father.

So in the end, it made little difference how much he was on their side - al-Shabab marked him for death.

Then again, what if this is still false information, and he's still very much alive? Well, let's hope this is correct and another traitor has tasted his own poison.

FLORIDA POLICE GIVE PASTOR TERRY JONES UNNEEDED ATTENTION

I don't think much of the pastor Terry Jones, who, despite his opposition to Islam, still has a very questionable MO. But that doesn't mean the cops had to arrest him for planning to burn Koran copies on 9-11:

ORLANDO, Florida (Reuters) - Anti-Islam pastor Terry Jones was arrested on a felony charge in Florida on Wednesday, police said, after announcing plans to burn nearly 3,000 copies of the Koran on a barbecue grill.

Jones was towing the grill and the kerosene-soaked holy books in the back of his pickup truck to a park in Mulberry, Florida, according to follower Stephanie Sapp, whose husband, Marvin Wayne Sapp Jr., was also arrested.

Sapp said Jones's group, Stand Up America Now, had earlier announced plans on Facebook to torch the Korans on the anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the U.S. The Koran is the most sacred religious text in the Muslim religion.

Jones and Sapp Jr. were each charged with unlawful conveyance of fuel, a felony, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in a statement. Jones was also charged with a misdemeanor of openly carrying a firearm.

Now maybe it was all just an arrest based on wrongful transportation of fuel, which could be dangerous in a car. But if the local sheriff department really did bust him because they despised his idea of letting the ummah know what he thinks of them, to say nothing of acting on their political opinions and not altruism, then that was wrong, and worse, it gives Jones all the attention I think they know they could've avoided lavishing him with. They'd do well enough to make their point unambiguously, or just drop the charges and stop giving people like him the attention he doesn't need.

Notice the reaction to the last anecdote. The head of the Muslim Brotherhood could not persuade or force his own daughter, a medical student, to veil herself with a head scarf, and he therefore appealed to the government to use the threat of official violence to do so. This illustrates the use of State power to enforce what can't be done by encouragement.

Earl Cox made clear on the Jerusalem Post just what the Religion of Peace really is, and towards the end says:

It certainly seems that “radical Islam” is in truth the “normative Islam” of today. At the very least, Islam has a potentially violent core that is deeply associated with the fundamental principles of its violent faith. This radical and violent core, with all of its terrorists and murderous intent, actually controls the entire religion today, as far as the world is concerned. If they continue as they are, and they talk and act as if they will, another World War may be inevitable.

Those are the beliefs it was built on, that's how it'll end, and that's why it is simply a bad religion and ideology.

9-11, 12 YEARS LATER

We're now at the 12th year since the jihadist attack on 9-11, and the annual memorial is being held again. Interestingly, the AP Wire article tells of something that came into effect a year ago:

Continuing a decision made last year, no politicians will speak, including Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Over his years as mayor and chairman of the National Sept. 11 Memorial & Museum, Bloomberg has sometimes tangled with victims' relatives, religious leaders and other elected officials over an event steeped in symbolism and emotion. But his administration has largely succeeded at its goal of keeping the commemoration centered on the attacks' victims and their families and relatively free of political image-making.

I'd say they're doing the right thing, because of Bloomberg's decisions to bar Judeo-Christian priests (and even rescue team operators) from delivering sermons, no doubt angering many families of victims too. Politicians who take one-sided actions like Bloomberg's staff did should be kept far away from the proceedings.

And despite what the AP says, mistreating Judeo-Christian advocates is very much a politicized act, and a very disrespectful one at that. Because of Bloomberg's dhimmitude, that's just why political interference had to be downplayed.

9/11 In My Classroom

On September 10 in my American Government/Current Events class, I presented a very effective lesson on 9/11. I made the day “come alive” for my students and the parents who were sitting in on the class. Not a dry eye in the room by the time I was done.

I personalized the lesson with details that my students will never read in history books: the days-long chirping of those cell phones at Ground Zero, the very small body parts, the pink mist in the air, the several hours I spent as I awaited word of the fate of one of my friends in the Pentagon (He, a wonderful man with several kids and a disabled wife, was called out of the building, out of the very room that was destroyed, a few minutes before the plane struck), the children who perished in the day care center at the Pentagon, tales of recovery personnel and what they went through in those weeks following 9/11, the anthrax attacks (the devil in the mail box), the many lost freedoms and the many resulting inconveniences, how this generation will never be as free as my generation, the travesty of the Flight 93 Memorial, and more — including the whitewash of Islam and my anger at today’s dhimmitude and political correctness.

I spoke without notes.

I spoke from the heart.

The last segment of my lesson plan consisted of playing Bruce Springsteen’s “You’re Missing” on the classroom's excellent sound system:

THEY TURNED THE IRAQ WAR INTO A VIRTUAL REPEAT OF THE VIETNAM WAR, AND GOT THE SAME RESULT: THE PERCEPTION ON THE WORLD STAGE THAT THE USA IS WEAK.

The group continues to issue certificates of German origin for trade with Arab countries. Its earlier practice of certificates verifying that no product parts were produced in Israel stopped in the early 1990s when Germany enacted trade regulations forbidding the use of certificates of origin to enable de facto trade boycotts, according to the AJC.
The Guardian said Bach had long coveted the presidency, and “ran a sophisticated lobbying campaign in which the Kuwaiti Sheikh Ahmad al-Sabah played a controversial role.” It said al-Sabah, an influential figure in IOC circles, “admitted to lobbying on Bach’s behalf in a breach of the IOC’s rules.” 

Bach, 59, who most recently served as IOC vice president, won a fencing gold medal in the team foil in 1976 before entering sports marketing and politics. With Syria's threats looming, security steps have been activated near the capital:

Israel deployed its Iron Dome missile defence system near Jerusalem Sunday, an AFP correspondent said, as the United States lobbied for domestic and international support for military strikes against Syria.

The correspondent said the battery was set up west of the city.

A military spokeswoman would not comment on the deployment, saying only that "defence systems are deployed in accordance with situation assessments."

The mosque has only been possible thanks to a 150 million kroner ($26 million) donation by the former ruling Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, which has led critics to voice concerns that the mosque will become a mouthpiece for radical Islam.In an interview with the Copenhagen-based daily newspaperBerlingske on August 5, Copenhagen City Council member Lars Aslan Rasmussen said, "Gifts like these from Qatar are not free and I am worried that Muslims in Denmark risk becoming radicalized and pushed even further from the society that they should be a part of."Rasmussen added that the 25,000 member Danish Islamic Council(Dansk Islamisk Råd) -- a Muslim umbrella group that is building the mosque -- belongs to the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Europe(FIOE), which has close connections to both Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood."I am sure that they will end up preaching an ultra-conservative interpretation of Islam," Rasmussen said. "I am disappointed that Denmark's first big mosque will represent this interpretation of Islam. They have the right to open the mosque, but I think that their connections to the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas are deeply problematic." 

Rasmussen's concerns have been echoed by another member of the Copenhagen City Council, Flemming Steen Munch, who says, "It is clear that we must give more thought to the fact that Qatar, where Islam is practiced so rabidly, has invested so much money in a mosque in Denmark. We should be concerned about radicalization and should keep a close eye on what is going to happen in that mosque." 

A spokesperson for the Danish Islamic Council, Mohamed al-Maimouni, denies that the mosque will be beholden to outside influences. "I understand Lars Aslan Rasmussen's concern," he says. "When you get such a big bag of money it follows that typically there are strings attached for teaching a particular rhetoric. But that is not the case here. The Emir has donated 150 million kroner to us and it is due to the way in which we have marketed the project in Qatar." 

According to al-Maimouni, "The best way to have dialogue and to inform about the true principles of Islam is by getting a proper forum to invite Danish politicians and others to lectures and discussion meetings. In this way we can promote our moderate message of Islam. The Emir would really like this." 

As a token demonstration of moderation, al-Maimouni says the minaret at the Nørrebro mosque will not -- for the time being -- be used to call the faithful to prayer five times a day. "We have not applied for permission for the call to prayer because we feel that Islam should adapt itself to the location in which it is being practiced," he says. "This would not be the case in these surroundings and it could be provocative for neighbors." 

But in separate interview with the daily 

newspaper Politiken, al-Maimouni admits that the Nørrebro mosque project has been deliberately shrouded in obscurity. "We have been running a low profile all the way and said no to many media inquiries," he said, "at least until we had the building authorization in place." 

Construction of the Nørrebro mega-mosque has, in fact, passed beneath the radar of the Danish media and has met very little resistance. This is in sharp contrast to another mega-mosque project in Copenhagen that will cater to the 80,000 Shia Muslims who now live in Denmark -- and is being financed by the Islamic Republic of Iran. 

The 2,000 square meter (21,500 square foot) Imam Ali mosque (see image here) will feature a massive prayer room for 3,000 Muslim worshippers at a time, as well as an amphitheater, conference room, library and ample living accommodations for visiting imams from Iran. 

The mega-mosque, which will be built in the Vibevej district in northwestern Copenhagen, will be accompanied by two 32-meter (105-foot) minarets, according to the Danish public broadcaster DR.

But the Imam Ali mosque project has faced resistance since it emerged that its main financial sponsor is the Ahlul Beit Foundation, a radical Shia Muslim proselytizing and political lobbying group run by the Iranian government.  

Ahlul Beit already runs around 70 Islamic centers around the world, and has, as its primary goal, promoting the religious and political views of the Islamic Republic of Iran. 

Ahlul Beit is opposed to all brands of Islam that compete with the form of Islam dictated by theocrats in Iran: the organization has called for the persecution of Sunni Muslims, Sufi Muslims, and Alawites as well as all secular and moderate Muslims. The organization is also vociferously opposed to the integration of Muslim immigrants into their host countries. 

Ahlul Beit is especially focused on spreading Islamic Sharia law beyond the Middle East; its centers in Africa and Asia, for example, have been used to radicalize local Muslim communities. In a typical quid pro quoarrangement, the organization offers money to the poor, who then convert to Shia Islam and are subjected to religious training by Iranian-backed Imams. The group has been banned in at least a dozen countries. 

In Europe, Ahlul Beit mosques are usually presented to the general public as centers for cultural and sports activities; in practice, however, they are often used by Iranian intelligence to monitor Iranians living abroad as well as to harass Iranian dissidents. 

In Germany, for example, the Imam Ali mosque in Hamburg was linked to the September 1992 assassination of four leaders of the Iranian Kurdish Democratic Party at the Mykonos restaurant in Berlin. 

In Britain, the Ahlul Beit mosque in London has been involved in issuing death threats against the British-Indian writer Salman Rushdie. The mosque has also been used to recruit terrorists and to spy on Iranian exiles living in Britain. 

The man who is set to become the main imam at the new mosque,Mohammed Mahdi Khademi, is a former military officer who ran the ideology department of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps until 2004, when he was hand-picked by the Iranian regime to move to Denmark. Many Iranian exiles believe Khademi has close ties to Iranian intelligence and fear the new mosque will be used against them. 

Some members of the Iranian democracy movement say the Copenhagen mosque is about far more than just the issue of freedom of religion. They say it is about Iran's desire to establish a political-religious foothold for extremist Islam in northern Europe. 

An Iranian exile, Farrokh Jafari, who recently organized a protest against the mosque, told the newspaper Berlingske that he is not opposed to having a mosque in the city, but that he wants to draw attention to Ahlul Beit's dubious intentions."We are protesting against Copenhagen's plans for a Grand Mosque, which is being paid for by the Iranian theocracy," Jafari said. "We fear that the mosque will not serve its religious purposes, but simply camouflage Iran's extended arms in Denmark." 

Jafari added, "We are not afraid of the mosque itself. We are supporters of religious freedom, and Muslims in Denmark should naturally also have a proper mosque. But we fear that this mosque, which is being built by Ahlul Beit, will spread fear among democratic Iranians in Denmark, launder money, and help the regime's people transfer out of the country money which they have stolen from the Iranian people. This is the experience from England, South Africa and France, where Ahlul Beit is also present." 

According to Jafari, "Ahlul Beit claims that the funds for the Grand Mosque come from private individuals in Iran and from collections in Denmark. We do not believe that. Ahlul Beit is controlled directly from Iran. It is idiotic to think that an association which uses enormous amounts of money to run religious centers in large parts of the world is exclusively run by private donations from a country that is under economic sanctions." 

Some observers warn that the threat of Islamic extremism in Denmark is not limited to the mega-mosques that are being funded by Qatar and Iran. 

During a talk at the Danish Free Press Society on August 22, Ahmed Akkari -- the man who organized the 2005 Mohammed cartoon riots and who now admits he was wrong to do so -- said: "The truth is that there is not a single mosque or Muslim organization in Denmark that is not run by Islamists.
