THE UPCOMING SYRIA VOTE IN CONGRESS IS REALLY A "VOTE OF CONFIDENCE" IN OBAMA, AND IF CONGRESS VOTES "NO" THEN...

... THEN IT WOULD BE A VOTE OF "NO CONFIDENCE" IN OBAMA AND HE SHOULD RESIGN THE PRESIDENCY.

HERE'S WHY:

OBAMA IS COMMANDER IN CHIEF.

AS COMMANDER IN CHIEF HE HAS THE AUTHORITY TO ORDER THE MILITARY INTO ACTION WITHOUT FIRST GETTING CONGRESSIONAL PERMISSION.

HE CAN'T CONTINUE THAT ACTION INDEFINITELY WITHOUT THAT  APPROVAL, BUT HE CAN'T ACT. ALMOST ALL PRESIDENTS SINCE WW2 HAVE.

THAT OBAMA FELT HE HAD TO GO TO CONGRESS BEFORE TAKING ACTION IS A REFLECTION OF THE LACK OF CONFIDENCE HE HAS IN TAKING ACTION AND HIS NEED TO HAVE PARTNERS TO SPREAD THE BLAME; (OF COURSE, IF IT WERE TO SUCCEED, HE WOULD CLAIM ALL THE CREDIT).

IF NEITHER OBAMA HIMSELF OR CONGRESS HAS CONFIDENCE IN OBAMA AS COMMANDER IN CHIEF, THEN THE MORAL THING FOR OBAMA TO DO WOULD BE TO RESIGN AND LET JOE BIDEN BE PRESIDENT.

AMERICAN CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE A COMMANDER IN CHIEF THAT DOESN'T HAVE THE CONFIDENCE OF CONGRESS - OR THE AMERICAN PUBLIC.
