While western political leaders are rushing to talk themselves into a corner it is becoming more and more clear that a token military response to the use of poison gas will be fruitless while the result of more comprehensive military action is at best unpredictable.
When there seems to be no Good Guy to support may I suggest that the United Nations issue an ultimatum that Assad deliver those responsible for the poison gas attack to the Hague so they may be tried as war criminals? This will give the parties involved time to build coalitions and draw more lines in the sand.
Meanwhile- if we are interested in lasting change in the region - is it not time to create an Independant and Free Kurdistan?
