MURDER STATISTICS

From Breitbart's Big Government:
According to the FBI annual crime statistics, the number of murders committed annually with hammers and clubs far outnumbers the number of murders committed with a rifle.
The mainstream media will not disseminate that information, of course.

The agenda of shredding out Constitution continues apace.

As Thomas Jefferson said:
If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be...The People cannot be safe without information....

I love Breitbart and think this gun control "debate" is absurd but...

whether rifles are more of "the problem" than hammers depends entirely on how one defines the problem.

If "the problem" is mass murder by strangers in public places then hammers are not the issue. My strong suspicion is that most uses of that weapon are in a domestic violence scenario.

FWIW, I had earlier noted that roughly as many people die falling off of ladders as die by rifle fire, so I am also an entrant in the Dubious Stat" category.

  2. of course the answer is requiring the registration of all hammers and prohibiting the sales to people under 18 or who have been suspected of being able to get angry.

EXCEPTING members of the union or the party.

  3. Are you a deliberate liar, or do you just not give a damn about the truth?

Here are the actual FBI numbers for murders committed in 2011:

    Murder by type of weapons:
    Total firearms 8,583
    Knives or Cutting Instruments 1,694
    Other Weapons 1,659
    Hands, fists, feet,etc. 728

It took me less than five minutes to find this. Give google a try some time. It could stop you from making a total fool out of yourself

  4. In 2011, 323 murders were committed with a rifle and 356 with a shotgun, while a staggering 496 were committed with hammers and clubs.

Furthermore, from 2005 to 2011, more people in the United States were killed with blunt objects such as hammers and clubs, or with hands and fists, than with rifles. In many of those years, twice as many people were killed with hands and fists than with rifles.

In 2006, there were 618 murders committed with a hammer or club, while 438 murders were committed with a rifle. In 2005, 445 murders were committed with a rifle while 605 by hammers and clubs.

Also in 2011, 1,694 people were killed by "knives or cutting instruments," far more than rifles and shotguns combined.

  5. 323 + 356 = 679 from rifles and shotguns. more were with hammers.

the rest of the gun deaths were handguns.

not so-called "assault" guns with big magazines.

so the whole anti-"assault gun" thing is bogus.

i want gun crimes lowered. therefore i support allowing citizens have their 2nd amendment rights to protect themselves from criminals who get guns illegally and will continue to do so no matter what gun laws idiotic libs like you green eagle pass.

the only thin that stops a bad man with a gun is a good man with a gun.

and bill clinton proposed and passed federal spending to out more armed guards in schools in 1999.

and columbine happened on his watch AFTER the assault and was passed and while it was effect.

case closed - if you are rational.

and not a kneejerk irrational lib.
