CONGRESS THREATENS TO CUT OFF AID TO THE PLO IF IT GOES AHEAD WITH ITS FAUX-STATEHOOD BID AT UN

The Washington Times reports that several senators are working for a vote in Congress to confiscate aid to the PLO as a punishment for its one-sided acts at the corrupt UN:
A bipartisan group of senators said Thursday they’ll push for a vote in Congress to kick the Palestinian Liberation Organization out of its Washington offices and threaten to withhold U.S. financial assistance if the Palestinians seek to use enhanced U.N. status against Israel.

The U.N. General Assembly was expected to vote later Thursday to recognize Palestine as a “non-member observer state,” which Israel and its supporters fear would give Palestinians a chance to use the International Criminal Court against Israel.

“This is a provocative, unhealthy step that will undermine the peace process,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican.

He is sponsoring an amendment along with Sen. Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat, to administer what amounts to a legislative spanking for the Palestinians.

Mr. Schumer said the debate offers a good chance for bipartisanship in Congress. The senators said they’ll seek a vote as part of the defense policy bill debate, which is currently taking place on the Senate floor.

Under their legislation, the PLO would be kicked out of its Washington office until President Obama certifies that Palestinian officials are engaged in meaningful negotiations with Israel.
They won't be, and I'm not sure Obama would verify it either, knowing where he really stands. That's the drawback to be found in this affair. But this is a good thing Congress is doing, if they do take steps against the PLO.

Not only that, they should also be taking steps to cut off funding for the UN, which only abuses the taxpayers' money round the clock. The UN is long outmoded, and it's time for them to start making do without our hard-earned money to fund their horrific policies.
