SANTORUM: WINNING A PERSONAL PRIMARY VICTORY AND COSTING US THE ELECTION AGAINST OBAMA

DO THE MATH:

SANTORUM BARLEY WON ALABAMA AND MISSISSIPPI  - WHICH MUST MAKE OBAMA ECSTATIC AND MAKES ME SICK TO MY STOMACH!

BUT RICK, NEWT AND MITT WILL SPLIT THE DELEGATES AND BY TOMORROW, MITT'S DELEGATE LEAD WILL HAVE GROWN.

DO THE MATH:

SANTORUM CANNOT WIN THE NOMINATION.

HE ADMITS IT.

HIS ONLY HOPE IS KEEPING MITT FROM WINNING IT ON THE FIRST BALLOT.

THAT MIGHT BE POSSIBLE - IT MIGHT NOT BE.

IF - AFTER PRIMARY SEASON IS OVER - AND IF NOBODY HAS ENOUGH DELEGATES TO WIN THE NOMINATION ON THE FIRST BALLOT, THEN NON-SUICIDAL SUPER-DELEGATES MIGHT ANNOUNCE THEY'LL BE VOTING FOR MITT AND HAND THE NOMINATION ON THE FIRST BALLOT.

SO, WHY DRAG IT OUT TO THE CONVENTION?

WHO DOES THAT HELP MOST?

OBAMA!

IT SEEMS TO ME SANTORUM IS PUTTING HIS EGO AHEAD OF THE PARTY AND THE NATION.

BOTTOM-LINE:

A VOTE AGAINST MITT NOW IS A VOTE FOR OBAMA IN THE FALL.

  1. The Republican Party has jumped the shark.

This situation is a total embarrassment.

One of the things I signed on for, when I officially became a Republican was that the Republican Party was moving forward.

Instead, it has moved backwards. It is a totally retrogressive party. The best thing about the party is Mitt. I like Mitt, but he is a terrible candidate. Terrible. He is a Devo album cover in a generation that has moved so far beyond that whole stereotype that Mitt looks like he was unfrozen from a block of ice.

And, Rick Santorum fulfills every stereotype about the insane religious right that the Left has ever spoonfed the public.

    Let's put it this way,

If the Left picked stereotypical "radical right" Republicans to embarrass the Conservatives, would they have picked anything different than Santorum and Mitt and Newt?

    Santorum = Catholic Falwell

Mitt = every bad stereotype of Reagan without the ideas

Newt = every bad stereotype of Nixon.

If you think you feel sick, be glad you aren't me.
