POPE BENEDICT 16 CONTINUES TO DISAPPOINT

WE REALLY NEEDED ANOTHER POPE LIKE JP2.

RATZINGER'S BENEDICT HAS TURNED OUT TO BE AN APPEASER:

BABALU: An excellent editorial by Mike Gonzalez at Fox News:
Pope Benedict, why won't you meet Cuba's dissidents?
Pope Benedict XVI’s trip to Cuba, later this month had the potential to greatly advance the cause of human freedom, which is, after all, the continuation of Jesus Christ’s work on this earth.
During this visit the pope could meet publicly with dissidents to offer them a measure of protection from their tormentors. He could speak clearly and loudly about their dignity as human beings. He could point out that they shouldn’t be thrown in dungeons for speaking freely, or accosted in the street by government mobs, especially when they are on their way to Mass.
Alas and inexplicably, all of this potential may be thwarted, as the hierarchy of the Church in Cuba has let it be known that the pope has no time to meet with dissidents because his schedule is too tight. Adding insult to injury, Vatican spokesman Rev. Federico Lombardi said that if Cuba’s ailing dictator Fidel Castro wants a personal meeting, “the pope will be available.”
THIS STRIKES ME AS SIMILAR TO THIS:

20,000 to protest Obama at Notre Dame... and the Pope is silent
20,000.
And where's the freakin' Pope?!

IT'S NOT JUST CATHOLIC TEACHING TO BE PRO-LIFE, MORE AMERICANS ARE PRO-LIFE THAN PRO-CHOICE.
NYTIMES: In Bethlehem, Pope Laments Israeli Wall
He reiterated his support for a Palestinian state in the shadow of the barrier that divides Israelis from Palestinians, one of the most contentious issues in the Holy Land.

With Israel’s security fence rising prominently in the background, he criticized the structure that Israel has called key to its security, calling it “a stark reminder of the stalemate that relations between Israelis and Palestinians seem to have reached.”

“In a world where more and more borders are being opened up — to trade, to travel, to movement of peoples, to cultural exchanges — it is tragic to see walls still being erected,” Benedict said.

“How we long to see the fruits of the much more difficult task of building peace!”

  • THE FACT THAT THE HEAD OF THE RC CHURCH CAN SAY THAT THE FENCE IS BAD AND NOT BE CRITICAL OF JIHADISM PROVES HE IS AN OLD USELESS COWARD AND HIS CHURCH A USELESS VESTIGE.

And where's the freakin' Pope?!

AND TO THIS:

MORE PROOF RC CHURCH IS DEAD: BENEDICT CONTINUES TO APPEASE ISLAM

BETHLEHEM, West Bank — Pope Benedict XVI spoke Wednesday at a Palestinian refugee camp, expressing his solidarity with “all the homeless Palestinians who long to be able to return to their birthplace, or live permanently in a homeland of their own.”
THE OBSTACLE TO PEACE IS NOT THE FENCE - BUT ISLAMO-TERROR.
IT IS A GREAT SHAME THAT THE POPE IS NOT A COURAGEUS DEFENDER OF THE FAITH.

POPE JP2 WAS.

IN MY HUMBLE OPINION - (AND I AM A JEW NOT A CATHOLIC) - CATHOLICS ESPECIALLY CUBAN CATHOLICS SHOULD MAKE THEIR VOICES HEARD.

PAPAL INFALLIBILITY IS A VERY VERY VERY RECENT ARTIFACT WITHIN THE ROMAN CATHOLIC.

POPE WERE ONLY DEEDED "INFALLIBLE" IN 1870.

AND KEEP IN MIND THIS:

Lord Acton’s Dictum on Absolute Power
Fr. Patrick Henry Reardon

Father Pat's Pastoral Ponderings
Twenty-first Sunday After Pentecost
October 17, 2010

Many folks who have never read him may be familiar, nonetheless, with the most famous mot of Lord Acton:

"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men . . ."

Although this pronouncement is frequently quoted, it is rarely analyzed, it seems to me, and even less often assessed. However, it warrants, by its popularity, at least some comment from time to time, and I propose here to make my brief contribution. Three headings, probably, will suffice.

First, when Acton made this comment — in the course of a 24-page letter to Bishop Creighton — the immediate context of the "power" was not secular but religious; Acton had in mind, explicitly and first of all, the Borgias, the Roman Inquisition, and other religious scandals. When he mentioned "the general wickedness of men in authority," he began with "Luther and Zwingli and Calvin and Cranmer and Knox." Only then did he go on to list Henry VIII, Philip II, and others.

It is difficult — futile, too, and hopeless — to understand Acton's observation apart from the way his conscience was strained to the limit by what he regarded as the major abuse of ecclesiastical power during his own lifetime: the declaration of Papal Infallibility in 1870.

THIS POPE HAS ERRED MANY MANY TIMES.

HE SHOULD ADMIT IT, HUNKER DOWN AND START DEFENDING THE FAITH!
