AWESOME POLL: ROMNEY WINNING THE MOST EVANGELICAL VOTERS IN SC - TEA PARTY VOTERS, TOO!

WOW: ROMNEY IS GETTING MORE EVANGELICALS AND MORE TEA PARTIERS IN SC THAN NEWT OR SANTORUM OR PAUL.

TAKE THAT HAWKINS AND JACOBSON!

AND THEN THERE'S THIS - (SAME LINK):

  • Romney leads among both Republicans (36/23 over Gingrich) and non-Republicans (26/18 over Gingrich).
  • Romney wins both men and women over Gingrich, the latter by 16 points, 35/19.
  • Romney wins among both Tea Party adherents and opponents.
  • Romney wins every age demographic; Ron Paul only scores 14% among 18-45YOs.
  • Rick Perry does not score above a 9% in any demographic category.
WOW.

THIS POLL PROVES THAT MITT IS THE BIG TENT CANDIDATE WHO CAN WIN A GENERAL ELECTION.

AND THEN THERE'S THIS:
a vast 72 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents now expect Romney to be their nominee — up by 32 points from mid-December.  Fifty-seven percent, moreover, call him their best chance to win in November, nearly triple the September level, with a 19-point jump in the last month alone.
... Among Romney’s other strong cards, four in 10 leaned Republicans say he has the best temperament and personality for the presidency; that falls to the low teens for Gingrich and Santorum and to the single digits for Paul and Rick Perry.
Romney also leads in trust to handle four out of five issues tested — he’s numerically behind Gingrich only on “international affairs.”  He’s gained eight points since December in trust to handle the deficit and leads broadly on the economy.  Even on handling social issues, Romney leads Gingrich and Santorum, by 10 and 11 points, respectively.
AND MITT IS BEATING PERRY IN TEXAS AND DOES VERY WELL IN HEAD-TO-HEADS WITH EITHER NEWT OR SANTORUM:
  • If the Republican candidates for President were just Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum, who would you vote for?
  • Rick Santorum 45%
  • Mitt Romney 42%
  • If the Republican candidates for President were just Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich, who would you vote for?
  • Mitt Romney 43%
  • Newt Gingrich 42%
AND THE LAST TIME I SAW A POLL ON IT, MITT WAS THE 2ND CHOICE OF MORE VOTERS THAN ANYONE ELSE.

"SO THE ANYONE BUT MITT"  - (AND THAT MEANS YOU JACOBSON AND HAWKINS) - CROWD SHOULDN'T ASSUME THAT IF SANTORUM OR NEWT DROPS OUT, THAT IT GUARANTEES A 2ND PLACE SHOWING FOR MITT.

ADDENDUM:

I AM CLOSE TO BETTING THAT MITT CAN GET EVERYONE TO DROP OUT AFTER FLORIDA. IN LARGE PART BECAUSE THE MONEY FOR THE OTHERS SHOULD RY UP ONCE MITT WINS FLORIDA.

THEN AGAIN, THE OTHERS HAVE NO CHANCE AT WINNING, BUT IF ROMNEY FAILS TO GET ENOUGH DELEGATES TO WIN ON THE FIRST BALLOT, THEN THEY COULD FORCE A DEADLOCKED CONVENTION.

DOUBTFUL - BUT POSSIBLE.
