BUT BECAUSE THERE ARE SOMETIMES A FEW PROBLEMS AND SIDE EFFECTS THE LEFT WANTS IT BANNED:
On Earth Day, Help us Ban Fracking - April 22nd, 2011
SCIENTISTS HAVE NOW THOROUGHLY STUDIED THE ISSUE; HERE'S WHAT THEY SAID:
DUKE STUDY GROUP:
We'll likely be using shale gas for some time, and the problems we've highlighted can probably be solved. It would be inaccurate and unfair to say our study proves that fracking should be banned.END OF DISCUSSION.
WE NEED FRACKING BECAUSE WE NEED MORE ENERGY AND SPECIFICALLY MORE DOMESTIC ENERGY.
LESS ENERGY MEANS HIGHER PRICES AND MORE UNEMPLOYMENT. THESE HURT THE POOR THE MOST.
YET THE LEFT IS ADVOCATING POLICIES WHICH MAKE ENERGY MORE EXPENSIVE - HURTING THE POOR.
THAT'S WHY I HAVE LONG ARGUED THE FOLLOWING:
IF WE WANT TO MAKE POVERTY HISTORY, THEN WE HAVE TO MAKE THE LEFT HISTORY.
Have you actually read the study? Unconventional gas drilling leads to methane in water within 1 km of drilling operations. This destroys property values which exacerbates the poverty you indicate you want to fight. If you go to Bradford County, PA you can see the fallout firsthand: water buffalo carts, 85% property value depreciation in some cases, up to 1/3 of private wells contaminated, and some exploding houses.
ReplyDeleteYou may think we "need" gas. We really do need water and shelter.
