Look at the nations which have created to most prosperity the last 60 years and they all have three things in common:
- globalization
- capitalism
- and closeness to the USA
Yet these are the three things which the left most opposes.
From 1960-1990, Western Europe far out-stripped Eastern Europe in creating prosperity.
HOW!?
- globalization
- capitalism
- and closeness to the USA
South Korea and Japan and Singapore are places where people can attain a good and bountiful life, but their cousins and neighbors in North Korea and Cambodia and Vietnam wallowed. HOW?
- globalization
- capitalism
- and closeness to the USA
Puerto Rico is a great place; Cuba is hell. How diD Puerto Rico do so well?
- globalization
- capitalism
- and closeness to the USA
India and China went from starving basket cases to economic powerhouses in 3 decades just by abandoning much of their socialistic policies and with:
- globalization
- capitalism
- and closeness to the USA
Hundreds and hundreds of millions of people have benefited from...
- globalization
- capitalism
- and closeness to the USA...
...yet the left sees capitalism, globalization and "USA hegemony" as negative. The left is wrong.
Leftist policies are what's keeping much of the world's population poor.
Which is why I have often said: If you want to make poverty history, then you have to make leftism history.

I agree with capitalism and closeness to the USA, but as for globalization I, like some conservatives have doubts! If we had fair play in the global markets that would be great, but the way things are I would favor a protective tariff. Normally free trade is great, but that's not how the table is set at this time. Nevertheless I basically agree. Great post as usual!
