THE DEMOCRATS ARE AS WRONG ON OBAMACARE AS THEY WERE ON THE SURGE

The Democrats got the Surge completely WRONG.

Especially Obama and Biden.

And they're using the same awful judgment on Obamacare.

The resulting POLITICAL mess here will be as bad as what might have happened in Iraq had Obama and Biden gotten heir way.

YUP: POLITICAL GENOCIDE: THE DEMOCRATS ARE GONNA GET SLAUGHTERED AT THE POLLS.

  1. Hey, just to ask a few questions...so this health care discussion isn't so black/white simple with name calling:

Quest 1. Do you think health care corporations will keep adopting elect. Med records systems that make ALL your medical secrets completely portable, search-able, and of course "usable" by insurance companies for business purposes ? ( very high Just for $$ reasons alone and efficiency right?)

Quest 2. Will Medical science keep researching and documenting the medical implications of your genes and all the medical ailments your genes pre-dispose you to? (probability very very high)

So as we become "medical open books" what forces (Market and legal) will protect any of us from extremely selective (and MOST PROFITABLE) and fragmented medical coverage? I really want to know how this will work

My reading of the history of the insurance industry's as a whole is that they started on an "actuarial basis" (e.g. neutral mathematical risk models) and have been gravitating to ever more selective models every year. How long is this system sustainable? How does a person cursed with diabetes change insurance? change jobs, do if they get laid off long term? As individuals we are pretty much "deer in the headlights" your solution is....

  2. LET INDIVIDUALS BUY HEALTH INSURANCE THE WAY THEY BUY HOME AND CAR INSURANCE.

END THE TAX BREAK FOR BUSINESSES AND GIVE IT TO INDIVIDUALS.

GIVE VOUCHERS TO PEOPLE WHO NEED HELP.

DEMAND NATIONAL COMPETITION BY ELIMINATING ANTITRUST EXEMPTION AND END STATE INSURANCE BOARDS.

ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO BUY CATASTROPHIC INSURANCE. AND HIGH DEDUCTIBLES.

GIVE VOUCHERS FOR ALL COMMUNICABLE DISEASE TREATMENT/PREVENTION IE VACCINES.

  3. Some new ideas in #2 & #4 rest we are already doing with same challenges
#1 LET INDIVIDUALS BUY HEALTH INSURANCE THE WAY THEY BUY HOME AND CAR INSURANCE.
(Sounds simple, but the problem for hospitals is that unless we get everybody (or a very high percentage) paying/buying plans they still get stuck with unpaid care and emergency staff wasted on un or under-insured. We made laws to require car insurance for almost everybody, imagine what a world it would be to drive and hope to heck the person who did anything to you had insurance. We would all be driving armored cars. If you want this to work we have to bite the same bullet for health care we did for driving...again individuals with ANY pre-existing conditions will be financially raped here w/o large group negotiation. With out some major cooperative purchasing / negotiation power here this will impact nothing)

#2 END THE TAX BREAK FOR BUSINESSES AND GIVE IT TO INDIVIDUALS.
(Now That's an interesting idea! One with some real consumer and massive market power...one I haven't heard much before. But lots of questions... Would working people be better off for it? Wouldn't business. massively just drop all plans? How would people negotiate with employers if what they lost in coverage, they never got back in wages? Many people (especially those employed with med. issues) have negotiated to keep health even though they knew they were losing wages...20 years ago before today's out-sourcing of jobs this idea might have worked...now, it would take a massive sales campaign and groups that have made huge sacrifices to keep health-care would not accept it, but still might be interesting to speculate creatively here...

GIVE VOUCHERS TO PEOPLE WHO NEED HELP. (Ok...me and my voucher go health care shopping. Two years ago in my state a common med procedure that cost $7k if paid by insurance, this same procedure cost 3 times that for a stand alone person off the street buying it. Why? Because the health providers used these people to cover other costs. State auditors office found this practice was rampant all over the state. Vouchers are controllable, low overhead, which is good, but on downside a single person has NO, NONE, NADA, ZIP negotiation power. Now if these people could band together somehow...you might have a real market force, but not solo. )

DEMAND NATIONAL COMPETITION BY ELIMINATING ANTITRUST EXEMPTION AND END STATE INSURANCE BOARDS. (some good ideas here too, but could be throwing baby out with bathwater. The devil and the value as my Grampa Harley used to say is in the details. Some of the things that state boards support are v. good such as more consumer privacy protection, consistent coverage, appeals processes, etc. Would any standards apply then, if so which ones? getting the standards right would key, and I like my states rules for consumers. but I AGREE more competition is almost always a good thing IF people really know what the HELL they are getting and good protections aren't lost.)
