2 GOP CONGRESSMAN WANT VENEZUELA DESIGNATED A STATE SPONSOR OF TERROR

EC:

Two South Florida congressmen introduced a resolution yesterday to officially designate Venezuela as a state sponsor of terrorism.

According to the News Sun-Sentinel, Ron Klein, a Democrat from Boca Raton, and Connie Mack, a Republican from Fort Myers, cited Venezuela’s alleged ties to the FARC, an terrorist group in Colombia, and Hizballah, a Middle Eastern terrorist group sponsored by the Iran government and based in Lebanon.

"The evidence linking Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez to the FARC and Hezbollah – two of the most dangerous terrorist organizations, responsible for many bombings, kidnappings, killings and drug trafficking – is overwhelming," Mack said in a statement announcing the resolution.

The Venezuelan government has strong economic ties to three of the four countries currently on the state sponsor list—Cuba, Iran, and Syria.

Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez has publicly expressed an affinity for the FARC’s ideology, but has repeatedly denied providing any financial or materiel support to the organization.

GOOD ON THEM.

PELOSI WON'T EVEN LET IT COME TO A VOTE.

BIRDS OF A FEATHER...

IN OTHER CHAVEZ NEWS:

Michael Moore's tequila story angers Hugo Chavez supporters

Michael Moore, the campaigning documentary-maker, has caused outrage among Hugo Chavez's supporters by claiming he drank a bottle of tequila with the Venezuelan leader in a luxury hotel suite during the recent Venice Film Festival.

Speaking on the ABC earlier this month, Moore alleged that he and his wife had been woken at 2am by a racket coming from Mr Chavez's room and ventured upstairs to ask him to quieten down.

"A bottle and a half of tequila later," Moore claimed, he had helped the President to write the speech he recently delivered to the UN. "At the very least, the guy owes me a year's worth of free petrol!" he joked.

The story enraged Chavez supporters because the socialist leader is teetotal. They dispute that the meeting even took place.
THEN THERE'S THIS BIT OF LEFT-WING CHAVEZALLATIO:
Oscar-winning actor and political activist Sean Penn may film a movie in Venezuela, according to the country's firebrand President Hugo Chavez.

Penn "told me was very interested in a film project ... that would most likely be shot in part in Venezuela," Chavez told state television on Wednesday after meeting the actor along with film producer Art Linson at the presidential palace.

Chavez said Penn, who he described as a "friend of just causes," hoped to make a movie based on the 1953 adventure novel "The Lost Steps" by Cuban writer Alejo Carpentier, which takes place mostly in the lush forests of southeastern Venezuela.

MOORE AND PENN AND CHAVEZ DESERVE EACH OTHER.
