This is a laughably pathetic exegesis, even by the standards of the New York Times.

The “Muslim insurgents” in Somalia are terrorists. They are in the thrall of Osama Bin Laden.

They have sought full control in the area (and indeed, the world) for years. And there has never been any hope that their victory would bring peace to that benighted country.

And the chaos that they speak about is the chaos caused by these very same Mohammedan bravos.

That The Times would pretend that the war in Somalia is entering a new phase or that “moderate Muslims” will turn it around is hilarious.

IT COULD BE A LITTLE WORSE; THEY COULD BLAME BUSH AND THE JOOOOOOOZE - ER UM I MEAN "THE ISRAEL LOBBY"!
