"MUMBAI = EPIC FAIL", AND NOT AN ISI OPERATION

INSTAPUNDIT IS RIGHT:

MUMBAI — AN EPIC FAIL: Plan was to kill 5,000. Underperforming by 95%.

THESE WERE NOT HIGHLY TRAINED (ISI TRAINED) PRO'S.
  • THEY WERE JIHADISTS.
  • THEY DID HORRIFIC DAMAGE IN THE SERVICE OF A HORRIFIC IDEOLOGY.
  • BUT THIS ACTION WAS MORE LIKE ATOCHA AND THE LONDON METRO BOMBINGS THAN NOT.
  • IT DIFFERED IN SELECTION OF WEAPONS. PERIOD.
  • SINCE THE ENEMY CONSIDERS THE ENTIRE WEST DAR EL HARB, WE ARE ALL SUBJECT TO THESE KINDS OF ATTACKS.
  • WE NEED TO REMAIN ON OUR UTMOST GUARD.
  • SADLY, OBAMA WILL RELAX OUR GUARD BY LESSENING OUR USE OF INTERCEPTS, RENDITION, HARSH INTERROGATION AND BY CLOSING GITMO.
  • ALSO, THE POOR 3-DAY RESPONSE BY THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES PROVES THAT NATIONS LIKE INDIA HAD BETTER GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER; THEIR POLICE RESPONSE SUCKED BIGTIME.
  • WHICH IS WHY SEVERAL OF THEIR LEADERS ARE RESIGNING.
  • MORE ON THE RESIGNATIONS HERE.

  1. I think it is true that it is highly unlikely these were ISI trained Jihadis.

But, why is it so important to you that they aren't?

I think your reaction seems like an overreaction. You protest too much.

  2. By the way, if this was an epic fail, then so was 9/11.

Why don't you put that on your front page?

  3. 9/11 WASN'T AN EPIC FAILURE.

    THIS WAS.

IT'S IMPORTANT THAT WE BLAME THE RIGHT PEOPLE SO WE CAN BRING THE RIGHT PEOPLE TO JUSTICE.

PAKISTAN IS A QUESTIONABLE ALLY BUT AN ALLY NONETHELESS.

THE REAL CULPRIT IS THE IDEOLOGY AND TO COM,BAT THAT WE NEED TO PRESSURE THE ENTIRE MUSLIM WORLD - IN DIPLOMATIC WAYS I HAVE BLOGGED ON MANY TIMES.

WE NEED TO GET BACK TO THE FDR/JFK/GWB PLAYBOOK:
    PUSHING UNIVERSAL HUMAN RIGHTS.

ANY NATION THAT DOESN'T HAVE THEM SHOULD BE FORCED OUT OF THE WEST AND THE WEST'S ECONOMIC COMMUNITY.

THIS WOULD PRESSURE FRIEND AND FOE TO LIMIT THE POWER OF THE EXTREMISTS AND MODERNIZE THEIR SOCIETIES IN WAYS WHICH ARE NOT ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH UNIVERSAL HUMAN RIGHTS, BUT THE RULE OF LAW AND NOT SHARIA.

BLAMING PAKISTANI HEGEMONY AND THEIR ENMITY TOWARD INDIA OVER KASHMIR IS A DISTRACTION.

  4. THE 9/11 PERP'S BROUGHT THE TOWERS DOWN AND STRUCK THE PENTAGON: ON BALANCE THE ATTACK SUCCEEDED, EVEN THO' THEY DIDN'T KILL AS MANY AS THEY WANTED.

  6. PASTO:

I NEVER SAID THAT PAKISATN HAS NO HEGEMONISTIC AIMS VIS A VIS KASHMIR.

JUST THAT THEY HAD NO ROLE IN THIS ATTACK.

  7. SOME PEOPLE ARGUE THAT:

"The Islamists showed a degree of organisation and co-ordination which are more akin to commando raids by an army than acts of terrorism."

    THIS IS UTTER BULLSHIT.

THEY USED THE SAME TECHNIQUES HERE AS IN IRAQ AND ELSEWHERE.

    BILL ROGGIO:

    "A unique attack

The Mumbai attack differs from previous terror attacks launched by Islamic terror groups. Al Qaeda and other terror groups have not used multiple assault teams to attack multiple targets simultaneously in a major city outside of a war zone.

Al Qaeda and allied groups have conducted complex military assaults on military and non-military targets in countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Somalia, Algeria, and Pakistan. But these are countries that are actively in a state of war or emerging from a recent war, where resources and established fighting units already exist."

    ROGGIO MAKES ONE HUGE ERROR:

HE IS USING A WESTERN DEFINITION OF WAR ZONE.

THE ENEMY DEFINES ALL ARES NOT UNDER CONTROL OF MUSLIMS AS DAR EL HARB - SO MUMBAI AND LONDON AND MADRID ARE ALL "FAIR TARGETS" FOR THIS ENEMY, AS SUBJECT TO ANY TECHNIQUE THEY CHOOSE AS FALLUJAH AND RAMADI AND SOUTHERN THAILAND AND THE MOROS.

THEREFORE; THIS ATTACK IS NOT UNIQUE AND REPRESENTS NO CHANGE, NO NEW PLATEAU FOR THE ENEMY.

    THAT'S JUST A FACT.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE THAT ...; WELL THAT'S TOO BAD.

REPEAT: EVEN ROGGIO ADMITS THEY USED THESE VERY SAME TECHNIQUES IN MANY PLACES BEFORE, ONLY HE ARGUES THEY ARE ALL "WAR ZONES".

MUMBAI AND ATOCHA AND LONDON AND NYC AND DC ARE ALL IN DAR EL HARB - THAT MEANS WAR ZONE TO THE ENEMY.

  8. My point is threefold:

    1) the ISI could be involved

    2) Pakistan is an ally of convenience, and

    3) Pakistan would not exist if it weren't for Jihad. The land of "Pakistan" is Indian land, given to Muslims, to shut them the fuck up. And, as per usual, it hasn't shut them up. Now they are agitating for Kashmir.

When you try to defend Pakistan as being a reasonable state, you are forced to go down illogical roads.

  9. Name one piece of evidence that this attack is not the result of ISI training. Truth is, we don't know yet.

    Why defend Pakistan?

You yourself posted that there were two Pakistani merchant ships involved. What's the big leap from there to the idea that government elements could have been involved?

  10. From LGF:

The confession of Azam Amir Kasav, the only terrorist captured alive in Mumbai, has apparently been leaked to the press. The Malaysian Insider has a detailed report on the story told by Azam, and it’s chilling: Terrorists posed as Malaysian students.

Note that Azam claims the terror team was trained by the Pakistani group Lashkar-e-Taiba, the militant Islamists closely linked to Pakistan’s ISI intelligence service. Their goal, he says, was to create a “September 11 in India.”

  11. You and I do agree that all Jihadi attacks are justified because they are attacks on Dar al-Harb. That's another way of putting the point I was attempting to make in the first place.

    Maybe I misunderstood you.
