40 MORE "MILITANTS" KILLED IN FATA - BY PAKISTANI ARMY

BLOOMBERG: Pakistani Security Forces Kill 40 Militants in Bajaur Operation
Pakistani security forces killed 40 militants yesterday in clashes in the Bajaur tribal region along the border with Afghanistan, a military spokesman said.

Two soldiers were killed and 12 others wounded in the operation that started early this week, Major Murad Khan said by telephone from Rawalpindi. Two military vehicles were also damaged, he added.

The effort to flush out militants is continuing, Murad said, after 25 mostly non-Pakistani combatants were killed and two arrests made earlier in the week. Pakistan's air force also inflicted ``heavy casualties'' in attacks Wednesday and Thursday on hideouts used by militants led by Qari Saeedur Rahman, an Afghan national who operates against Pakistani forces in the Bajaur Area, Murad said.
WE ARE SMASHING AL QAEDA IN THE FATA. AND WE ARE GETTING SOME HELP. THOUGH I IMAGINE NOT AS MUCH AS WE'D LIKE, AND MORE THAN MANY PAKISTANIS ARE HAPPY WITH.

STAY TUNED...
