OBAMA:
Democrat Barack Obama said today he would bring bin Laden to account in a way that wouldn't allow the Sept. 11 mastermind to become a martyr.
At a Washington news conference after meeting his security advisers, he acknowledged that bin Laden might not be taken alive, but suggested that the Nazi war crime trials at Nuremberg after World War II would be a good model if he is.
- THE NUREMBERG TRIALS WERE MILITARY TRIBUNALS.
- DEFENDANTS WERE NOT READ THEIR MIRANDA RIGHTS OR ALLOWED TO SUE TO GET THEIR CASES HEARD BY A FEDERAL COURT.
- MOST CONVICTED WERE EXECUTED.
- SOMETHING TELLS ME WE SHOULD EXPECT OBAMA TO BACKTRACK FROM THIS STATEMENT IN A DAYS OR SO.
- AS USUAL.
OBAMA'S ADVISORS AND SURROGATES SAY OBAMA WOULD BE BROUGHT BACK TO THE USA FOR A TRIAL IN US COURTS. WASH EXAMINER:
Barack Obama's foreign policy advisers said Tuesday that Osama bin Laden, if captured, should be allowed to appeal his case to U.S. civilian courts, a privilege opposed by John McCain.AN OBAMA PRESIDENCY WOULD BE A GRAVE THREAT TO OUR REPUBLIC AND A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER TO THE FREE WORLD.
Responding to questions from The Examiner, Sen. John Kerry and former White House counterterrorism czar Richard Clarke said bin Laden would benefit from last week's Supreme Court decision giving terrorism suspects habeas corpus, the right to appeal their military detention to civilian courts.
VOTE ACCORDINGLY.
I seriously doubt Barack Obama was aware that the Nuremberg Trials were military tribunals.
