NOTHING NEW, ALWAYS A REMAKE

Looking over the illustrious career of Charlton Heston, I watched the trailer from his excellent 1971 film, "The Omega Man," based on the 1954 novel, "I Am Legend."

This is the story that was remade last year as the Will Smith vehicle, "I Am Legend" -

But the original film version, "The Last Man on Earth," starring Vincent Price, was made in 1964!

What is up with Hollywood, anyway? No new stories? Why the remakes of remakes?

RELIAPUNDIT ADDS: HESTON'S WAS THE BEST MOST ANTI-COLLECTIVIST OF ALL OF THEM.

BTW: THE MALTESE FALCON WAS A REMAKE. SOMETIMES. THERE'S A GOOD REASON TO DO A REMAKE.
