MSM'S INCESSANT NEGATIVE SPIN IN ECONOMY TAKING ITS TOLL

REUTERS: April consumer confidence slumps to 26-year low
U.S. consumer confidence fell to its lowest in more than a quarter century in early April, diving deeper into recessionary territory on heightened worries over inflation and jobs, a survey showed on Friday. The Reuters/University of Michigan Surveys of Consumers said its preliminary index of confidence fell to 63.2 in April from 69.5 in March, well below economists' median expectation of a slight fall to 69.0, according to a Reuters poll.

The April result is the lowest since March 1982's level of 62.0, when the "stagflationary" period of low growth and high inflation was still fresh in the memory of many Americans.
THE LEFT-WING DOMINATED MSM PROVES THE BIG LIE TOLD OVER AND OVER STILL WORKS.

YES: BIG LIE:(VIA DOUG!)
AND THIS:

That Awful Economy [David Freddoso]

A Hill staffer sends this along:

It’s the Politics, Stupid:

Comparing Labor Market Data in 1996 and 2008

Democrats on the Economy in 1996:

“Our economy is the healthiest it has been in three decades.” (President Bill Clinton, State of the Union Address, January 23, 1996)

Democrats on the Economy in 2008:

“The bottom line is that this administration is the owner of the worst jobs record since Herbert Hoover." (Senator Charles Schumer, Press Release, March 7, 2008)

Key Labor Market Statistics in 1996 and 2008

March 1996 March 2008
1. U.S. Unemployment Rate 5.5% 5.1%
2. Number of Long-Term Unemployed 1.33 million 1.28 million
3. Average Weeks Unemployed 17.3 weeks 16.2 weeks

BOTTOM-LINE: WHEN A DEM IS IN THE WHITE HOUSE, THEN THE GLASS IS ALWAYS HALF FULL (TO THE MSM) - EVEN WHEN IT'S EMPTY.
