Yawn.
McCain said this tonight:
I will fight every moment of every day in this campaign to make sure Americans are not deceived by an eloquent but empty call for change that promises no more than a holiday from history and a return to the false promises and failed policies of a tired philosophy that trusts in government more than people.McCain should counters that he has GREAT experience and is a proven leader while Obama has NO EXPERIENCE and is entirely unproven. Here's how McCain should handle this line of attack, it's rhetorically much simpler than the above line:
"In risky times - when you don't know what challenge tomorrow may bring - you shouldn't put your trust in someone who is untested and inexperienced. The Oval Office is no place for novices - especially in today's world."
When Reagan made his old age joke, in the second debate against Mondale, he was kidding in a warm, humane and self-deprecating way. (About 2:12 into the video.)
With McCain the contrast is STARK and not so funny.
Mondale was vastly more qualified than Obama - perhaps more qualified than Obama will EVER be.
For this reason alone everyone should vote McCain.
Jeez. It's gotten to the point where people are picking and poking at Obama's every word, looking for sexism or ageism or...something. Fighting and scraping and clawing to get at those straws. It's kind of amusing, actually.
