WOULD IT BE GOOD AND NICE IF EVERY WORKER IN THE USA GOT A 5% RAISE?

I asked a leftie friend of mine if he thought it would a good idea and nice if EVERYONE ion the USA got a 5% raise.

He said SURE.

Then, I said that Bush and Congress could do this with the stroke of the pen - by giving EVERYONE a 5% tax cut IMMEDIATELY.

After all, the budget deficit isn't near historically high levels.

And we're teetering toward a recession.

It's a win for everyone: Bush, the Dem Congress, and everyone who gets a W2.

Well, when he heard it was an across the board tax cut I was suggesting; he immediately said he'd only favor it if it didn't also go to the rich!

Lefties like him don;t feel that rich people who pay income tax deserve to keep an additional 5% of THEIR money as much a everyone else does.

CLASS WARFARE - it's a reflex for the left.

Anyhow...

I SAY: If that's all Bush thinks he can get through in the next few weeks, then HE SHOULD PROPOSE IT ASAP: A ONE TIME 5% REDUCTION OF THE INCOME TAX FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR.

I'd love to see the Dems try squirm out of this one!

UPDATE: Obama is offering a big stimulus package - it's VERY COMPLICATED.

Why doesn't he just cut the income tax for everyone; it's SOOOOOO simple!
