HAARETZ:
Bush: I believe we will reach peace deal in 2008
By Aluf Benn and Barak Ravid, Haaretz Correspondents, The Associated Press and Haaretz Service
U.S. President George W. Bush said Thursday that he is confident that the Israelis and the Palestinians will reach a peace deal in 2008.
Bush was speaking in Ramallah after meeting with Palestinan President Mahmoud Abbas. The U.S. president is on a three-day visit to Israel and the West Bank to show support for renewed Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.
- HE'S NUTS. HE'S DRINKING WHAT CONDI DRANK.
- BUT IT'S WORSE THAN THAT: THIS ATTITUDE IS WHAT LED CLINTON AND BARAK TO MAKE A DANGEROUS OFFER TO ARAFAT IN 2000.
- AND BARAK WAS STRONGER AND SMARTER THAN OLMERT.
- THERE'S NO CHANCE OF MAKING A DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE; WE HAVE A GREATER CHANCE OF MAKING PEACE WITH IRAN -- SO WHY DON'T BUSH AND CONDI GO TO TEHRAN!?
I WISH THIS WAS POSSIBLE, BUT UNTIL FATAH CHANGES - AND HAMAS AND HIZBALLAH AND SYRIA AND IRAN TAMED - THERE WILL BE NO PEACE DEAL AND MORE IMPORTANTLY: THERE WILL BE NO PEACE.
