A SIMPLE TAX WHICH CAN MOOT MUCH OF THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION DEBATE

Here's an idea:

(1) Let's put a 30% withholding tax all foreign money transfers.

(2) Let's require a taxpayer ID# on all transfers.

(3) Then let's give a refund of the tax to all legal tax-filers. The tax-filer simply lists the amount withheld with receipts, and they get a refund.

Only those not filing a tax return would pay.

Therefore, the tax would only be paid by ILLEGALS not otherwise paying income taxes.

This would off-set some of the governmental costs they generate, and discourage some from working here ILLEGALLY, (as it would put a pretty big crimp on what they send home - a major reason/benefit many come to work here).

REPEAT: This would not effect the taxes of anyone here legally and filing a return.

This would moot one of the key complaints about illegal immigration: that they don't pay taxes.
