LOTS HAS CHANGED SINCE 2005 IN IRAQ - SO WHY ARE THE DEMS STILL CALLING FOR RETREAT!?

The Dems have been calling for retreat since early 2005.

Since before the Iraqis had a constitution.

Since before they had an elected government.

Or they reached a national compromise - (which is soon to be approved by the full parliament).

IOW: three years have passed, LOTS HAS CHANGED - (Zarqawi is dead, Saddam is dead and so on), and the Dems still haven't come up with anything constructive; they just repeat their mantra: DEFEAT DEFEAT DEFEAT; RETREAT RETREAT RETREAT.

All the Democrat policy would accomplish would be to cede control of Iraq to al Qaeda.

Three years. During which time the whole freakin' entire Dem leadership has repeatedly shown more respect to the murderous tyrant Assad than to Maliki - the elected leader of our ally.

YES: The progress has been slower and messier than anyone wanted. But slow progress and setbacks doesn't mean you retreat; it means you still NEED TO DO MORE! You know what they say about when the going gets tough? Well, it's supposed to apply to Democrats, too - isn't it?!

But all we've heard is defeat and retreat. For three straight years. It wears down our resolve and gives succor to the enemy.

THREE YEARS. The Dems and the MSM: DEFEAT AND RETREAT! Three years, non-stop.

Then again - when I give it more thought, the Dems have actually been calling for the USA to retreat for 40 YEARS - since 1967.

• The got us to dump the South Vietnamese in 1975 - two years after our last combat troops had already left.

• They got us to dump the Contras and retreat from Nicaragua.

• They dumped the Shah and let the Ayatollahs take Iran.

• They wanted us NOT to deploy the Pershings in Europe.

• They wanted us to UNILATERALLY end the arms race - because the USSR was benign in their view.

• They let al Qaeda and its precursors attack us a dozen times in the 1990's without once counter-attacking in an effective way.

• They are still opposed to NMD.

IS THERE AN ENEMY THEY DIDN'T WANT TO APPEASE!?

NOPE.

Which is why their constant call for DEFEAT AND RETREAT should surprise no one: IT'S IN THE DEMOCRAT DNA. (Well, maybe not the De DNA of FDR or Truman or JFK or Scoop Jackson or Joe Lieberman, but it's n the DNA of the Democrat Left - and the Left controls the party now.)

SUPPOSE THE ENEMY GAVE A WAR AND THESE LEFTIE DEMS DIDN'T SHOW UP?

We'd win a lot faster and with a lot less defeatist belly-aching!
