HOW WE MIGHT USE FEDERAL TAX REFORM TO MOOT THE IMMIGRATION DEBATE

One reason many people get all pissed-off by illegal immigrants is because they get a free ride when it comes to taxes and services: they pay less taxes than legal residents and citizens, and yet they get full state and federal services (schools, healthcare, the use of highways, etc. - and all the incidental benefits of being in the best damn country on the planet).

Here's one way to fix this problem:
THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT COULD PASS A FLAT INCOME TAX OF 15%, AND ALSO A NATIONAL SALES TAX of 15%, AND THEN GIVE ALL LEGAL PEOPLE WHO FILE TAXES A "SALES TAX CREDIT" OF UP TO $15,000, (OR THE AMOUNT OF INCOME TAXES THEY PAID IF TAXES PAID IS LESS THAN $15,000).

THEN ONLY PEOPLE WHO FILE TAXES WOULD GET THE BREAK AND ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS WOULD NO LONGER GET A FREE RIDE.
States and cities - who perhaps bear the brunt of illegal immigrant expenses - could do the same thing, with lower numbers.

Under this scheme even tourists would federal sales tax, too. This is a partial solution which would almost make the whole immigration/temporary worker controversy go away.

'Cause there's one other thing: WE SHOULD ALSO DEMAND ASSIMILATION FROM ALL WHO WISH TO RESIDE HERE.

THERE SHOULD BE NO IMMIGRATION WITHOUT ASSIMILATION.
