Seeing as how the South Koreans have to deal with the more immediate consequences of provoking North Korea, or allowing it to continue to build nukes, perhaps we should not be so quick to accuse them of "cowardice".
ReplyDeleteXan - I agree the term cowardice is strong...the editors of this site who usually improve my posts -gave my original language a stronger spin...but I still do not understand why SoKo should openly question the blokade unless it was a ruse encouraged by the State Department...which I doubt

ALSO: they have MUCH to FEAR from rapid unification; more than west germany did from absorbing the east.
hecne the soko desire to go slow, and KEEP kim in power and slowly get the noko's back on their feet.
a catastrophic collapse, though, is probably the best thing for all - soko, noko. japan, china. and the usa.
as this is better than if and when kim uses his nukes and continues to commit genocide against his own people.
